Suhr no longer using Tremol-no?

I saw in one of the classified threads the seller stating Suhr no longer supports Tremol-no's. Says they are fussy or something or other. I have one in one guitar of mine. It hasnt given me any probs that I am aware of. I would say it helps with string changes as well (floating floyd). I lock it down and it tune up fresh strings close then let it loose and Im almost there. Anyone else heard of this or had probs with theirs? It was news to me.

From what I understand, they aren't so much against the product.....they just don't won't to be involved in the installation process anymore. I believe they had many customers that needed theirs tweaked once they received their guitars and they'd end up sending them back to them to be adjusted. It just became a headache that they no longer wanted to take part in. I always installed my own anyway, just because it was cheaper and easier to adjust them myself. I really can't blame them for dropping the option.

Edit: Just found a direct quote from the man himself that I lifted from the Suhr forum:

"Is there any specific reason? any problem with the system?"

John Suhr: "Maintenance and issues if it isn't set up perfectly. It is still the best solution out there if you really need it. It is just way to time consuming for us to dial in. You can always add one of course."

I found them to be cool, but mine always added a funny grinding feel/noise when bending strings (and slightly moving the trem). Impossible for me to dial out, no matter how I adjusted it.

I use big bends nut sauce to lubricate it and it works perfectly, no grinding or other issues.

Not a fan of these. Probably a good choice on Suhr's part. They are fussy.

I had one and found it to be a PITA. IF you want to block at trem only you cannot beat the goeldo backbox....it will make a Floyd guitar stay perfectly in tune. The tremelo no is too fragile and will easily break if you are not incredibly careful with it. Not worth the trouble IMO.
Their support sucks too. I called for a replacement part several times and some doofus said OK I'll send it....I said you already promised that.
He was not trustworthy.

Yeah, I found them to be a little finicky too. It takes away from what a floyd does. Once you get it tunes you don't have to jack with it. Although I have mine tunes in pretty good now, it took me a bit to get it.

If you forget it's locked, and use the trem, SNAP - it breaks at the connector to the block.
