Should I go for it?

Why not!

i've wanted to try them since I saw them on Pete's guitar, but i have no idea about how effective they are. I figured binding probably happened at the nut more than at the bridge but I may be completely off base.

I'd use them but the logo/stamp on the aftermarket version puts me off. The only way to get them without the logo is to buy a guitar that they're offered with.

Just buy fixed bridge guitars and the problem is solved 😂

These work well, two of my guitars have the locking tuner/locking saddle combo and I’ll never go back to a Floyd.

I think the black flanged locking screws are 4mm…and are impossible to find if you drop one onstage, lol.

I had them on my Suhr Modern before I sold it. They definitely worked great. Biggest thing is make sure you don't overtighten that screw, because otherwise you will increase your likelihood of breaking a string. I went through a few high E's before I figured that out. It has to be tight enough to keep it in place, but not hulk smash tight.

I’m your huckleberry, but not until I retire.

I work so many hours it’s obscene, though I’m blessed with a great career that is able to pay the bills rather than eating Ramen noodles building guitars:

Wow, all that is your scarce free time? Even more of a feat! Great job man! 🤘🏻

Is your career connected to woodworking somehow?

Thanks, really appreciate it! Sincerely

I was building guitars with a fantastic mentor for a couple years, his designs and a few of mine. Obama got elected and we sold zero guitars over the next six months, when the lease was up for renewal we did not renew.

My career nowadays is equipping warehouses. It was demanding pre Covid and ramped up at an insane rate post Covid.

Here’s some random shots from recent years from my phone, some experimental stuff in there:

WOW! This is really great stuff!

Hopefully I’ll scrape enough to at least afford shipping when you retire 😂

Glad that your career is prolific. Wish it to be ever abundant 🤘🏻

Well, I committed. I’ll fine-tune it later.

I like the modern/narrow string spacing as well. I was going to buy a tele recently, and it had vintage/wide spacing and I just can't do it. I kept researching how to convert the hardtail string thru bridge installed to a narrow spaced, but seemed like it could be quite a little project, or cost a bit of extra cash, so I passed on the guitar.

I had these saddles on a suhr Pete thorn and they worked fine. I find with a gotoh 510 trem and locking tuners that I just didn't need to lock at the bridge. Nothing wrong with them, just like adding a locking nut on the other end. It works, just not necessary in my experience with them.
