Super cheap wireless worth it?

Alright so I pulled a straight woman move and changed my mind at the last friggin second. Literally had the G10s in my cart on Amazon....then bought this instead. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07ZJYDN4D/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I figured I’ll try the cheap0 and it it sucks I’ll return it and buy the g10s.
That is one of the ones I was refering to in my post above. I wonder if the 5.8ghz will actually be better than the 2.4ghz, especially at home when your gear is near your wi-fi router.

I hope it works out. But tell us how you like it either way. One way or another, having the wireless frees you in a way like no other. Really useful for maxing out amp (with volume rolled) and getting out of path of destruction before trying to get the wife to divorce you
I’ll certainly report back.

My router will be 15-16’ away...same room of course. We will see. Supposed to arrive today. I’ll try to give a go and let you guys know how it works out.
At current though I’m knee deep in putting a pool table together! Geez...

My router is only about 4-5 feet away from my amp, which is why I havn't bought a Line 6, Boss, or Xvive or similar. I have a feeling there will be issues. I have been curious about these 5.8ghz models for that reason.

Hmmm I’ll try to shuffle stuff around and try different spots and let you know what I’ve got.

Had about 20 mins with it.
So some quick thoughts.
it was packaged well. Has a Plastic housing and feels like I could break with my hands if I’m a heavy handed type person.

Both units were almost fully charged out of the box. Plugged the transmitter and receiver in to my computer monitor USB port and in about 20 mins, they were fully charged. Red LED is low battery. Blue LED means full batt...pretty simple.

I plugged it into amp and guitar, turned on both units and never had to hit another button ...for channel switching or anything. It worked perfectly in that room. The Lights in the room were on, the mixer was on the powered monitors were on, my CPU was streaming music on monitors, the WiFi/router was about 10-12’ feet away with several devices connected. I had no noise, or popping. Pretty much silent. I Cranked both of my amps up to a decent volume and walked at wound the room. It did just fine. Unless the thing just falls apart or the electonics begin to wig out this should work for me.

I’m not sure about battery Life yet. I’ll figure that out in time. The range seems pretty good. I can walk about 40’ away in my room and no issues at all. Once I walk out of the room and start heading down stairs it’s starts to fall apart but at that point I’m all the way downstairs and 60-70’ away with several walls between me and the amp. But as I walk closer to the receiver, but down stairs it starts to work again. Very cool gadget.

I’ll put it through the paces some more but right now I dig it.

I bought the BOSS WL-50, it works great. I am still "ghost" feeling the cable, 45 years of playing with a cable will do that to you.

Yea. I’ll look down at my feet every so often expecting to be tangled up. ?

The BOSS is great if you want your humbucking guitar to sound like a single coil guitar, otherwise, it isn't any good. Damn. I sound like Eric Clapton's guitar from "Let It Rain". The whole meat and potatoes is gone, sweet sugary ice cream cake tone.

It's not like I could turn the knobs a different way and get my tone back. Damn, I want to go wireless, but I'm a cheap bastard, they obviously clash. The WL-50 is $250.00, will $500.00 get me there? Or does it take 10 large?

Tone fanatics advice only, if it can be done to where the tone is the same with a wireless system, help me, I don't friggin know.

I have the Xvive units - they work great (much better than the Line 6 POS I used to have) and are crazy simple to use

boss wls and Xvives will not work well with active jacks...
I got the same thin sound when using the Xvive...

The GLXD16 arrived in time today to use it at practice. It was pretty good. When I got home I was able to somewhat compare it to a cable and it was not that different. Tomorrow I will fire up my main rig and see what happens.

I like the GLXD-16 enough to use it. I am assuming that all wireless systems will never be as good as a cable but what I gain by having the freedom of movement is worth the change in tone.

Does anyone here have a $1,000.00 wireless? Will it take me to where I want to be?

What is it that you find lacking in the GLXD-16?

For me it was a very faint hiss/crackle when playing single long notes on the lower strings with a really clean tone.
But otherwise, fine enough for me and the metal pedal form factor + built-in tuner and good battery life are big plusses!
