Right around 48.My god it sounds like a different animal!!I originally bought these for the Mod100 but,I had to see ,so I guess I have to order more

had a buddy over today, and we put up the VHT 2902 to the Mod50. His comment "Damn that VHT 2902 is just HUGE in tone compared to the Mod50." (Mind you he loved the Mod50 too, as it's more organic and such, but he was super surprised how huge the VHT 2902 made the modules sound!!!) That and the 6550s are just like friggin gold!

id like to hear a side by side of the VHT 2902 and the RT2/50 w/6550s into identical cabs. Eric why dont you get a hold of a RT put a set of 6550s in it and let us know if its close. Im sure the VHT would still come out on top.

If anyone has a RT250 they would like to loan to me for a couple days, I'd be more than willing to do this recording for you. I just don't know of anyone that probably would be willing to part with their RT250 for a day or two.

I figured as much I wouldn't part with my VHT 2902 for anything. I'd give up the Mod50 before that for sure!

KT88s sound great in the 2/50 also. For the ultimate Jeckyll/Hyde setup, I had mine with that on one side and EL84s with THD Yellowjackets on the other side. This way I could get a real nice AC/30 tone with a top boost module and 84s, and a almost there Marshall 18 with the plexi and the 84s. Was amazing the difference tonally too - modules got chimier with the 84s, and had massive balls and thunder with the KT88s.

One other thing the 2/50 is great for is auditioning tubes... really want to see what the difference is between different brands of tubes? Put a pair of each on either side and then switch them on the fly!
