Sweetwater has been bought out.

Not great news IMO, not sure of the long term impact.
long term is the same for any company since 1980, layoff employees outsource your call center to the Philippines and cut everything to the bone til nothings left then blame it on a Democrat.

I don't imagine Sweetwater is going anywhere; it doesn't sound like they're sinking. Best case you hope an equity company recognizes that Sweetwater is profitable because of what they're doing right, and lets them continue being successful. Maybe that's what Gibson will do with Mesa, and I think B.A.D. will do that with Soldano. Of course, Gibson/Mesa weren't bought by investment groups. I'm less confident that there won't be more extreme efforts to maximize Sweetwater profits. Like GC, I think Sweetwater will stick around, and it's more of a question of how much they're resemble their former self.

I've always gotten great service from them in the last 15 years I've used them. I think they were bought out precisely because they are good and will continue to generate even more revenue as they are given the funds to expand. SW considered "unicorn" status due to their great profitability.

SW has been my #1 for new gear, if they carry what I need. They've always treated me well, given me discounts, great customer service, my dude has similar gear tastes to me and has given me spot-on suggestions in the past. I have little hope for them staying the course after this buyout.

This is a bummer. I’ve bought several new and demo amps from them over the last couple years. I have a great relationship with Evan my sweetwater guy. I’ll have to email him and see what’s up.

Me neither.

I've bought multiple high end amps and cabs from them and they've always come through. Sales people know their stuff, too. They're even good about giving discounts on stuff that can be discounted. Actually, once I bought a 4x12 from them that got damaged during shipping due to a tornado (so obviously not their fault), and when I reported it damaged, all they asked for was a description of the damages and they replaced it without hesitation.

Sweetwater is ...by far... easily the best music equipment merchant I have ever dealt with.

Why wouldn't you guys buy anything from them?

Weird. Usually with retailers like Sears and Guitar-Center, there is real-estate to be sold to another 'holding company' and then leased back to the retailer at a huge penalty. Then exploit the credit until bankruptcy.

Sweetwater has no real estate? Except the one property.

I dont need anything

So you pop into a Sweetwater thread to imply that you don't like them as a company, but the truth is just that you are satisfied with what you have, so fuck everybody else who might need equipment from a good vendor, might as well badmouth them because you're bored?

Do I have that right?
No you dont have it right all my shit is not readily available anymore and I have never bought anything from big box music store except a bugera 1960 for 229 shipped on MF stupid deal of the day for giggles. Oh and they dont make those anymore.
