For years I’d order something from Sweetwater with free shipping and get it via FedEx within a couple of days (I’m one state over from them).

Lately it seems like they do most of their free shipping via USPS, which means up to a week of delivery time.

Anyone else noticed this change in carrier? At this point, if I want something quickly I’ll order it from Amazon instead of Sweetwater.

I just ordered a bunch of strings from Sweetwater and it I got it in 2 days. Amazon I’ve had countless things show up 4 days later when ordered.

I think you're right but shipping has turned out to be the biggest cluster on earth. Reverb gives you choices but definitly has started to use USPS more and Amazon has turned out to be a joke . Prime used to be expedited but now It can be anything from same day to 3-4 days . UPS rates are in the serious insanity mode right now unless you can ship from your employer or someone that's setup with them .

The whole situation is one big pain in the ass!!

I don’t buy much stuff from Amazon, but I’m still getting pretty much anything I order with Prime next day, same day in some cases. Must vary significantly by location since I’ve seen the same thing come up in other forums.

I've only received shipping through USPS with them for small items anything with any type of size I'm still getting FedEx.

No complaints with recent shipments from Sweetwater. They have been coming via FedEx incidentally, but sometimes it's handed off to the local USPO for delivery. I ordered a Fender bridge Sunday and it is coming today. This has been the typical lead time for my Sweetwater orders.

By way of comparison, I am an Amazon Prime member and that service has totally gone down the toilet bowl. Late December, I ordered "Eligible" for Prime, Shipped/Fulfilled by Amazon" D'addario strings. They are coming January 25th!! This unfortunately has become commonplace. What the hell am I paying for? Maybe I should "Ask Jeff?" :-)

i got a Quad Cortex over Christmas from SW, it came FedEx. i think it depends on what you're getting maybe? smaller packages make more sense to go USPS as they can fit in a mailbox.

but yea, honestly, some of the amazon/fedex/ups/usps delivery folks have total shit for brains. they'll leave you're shit laying anywhere...driveway, on the steps...makes no fucks to them. i always intercept them, or alert my neighbor so he can put his kids on standby to grab it. i bought a new OS for my PC (figured it was time to move on from VISTA :D). USPS put that in my mailbox,...but the new HDD i bought through Amazon..their girl left it laying in the fucking rain, on the steps. if she'd taking literally two more baby steps, she could've gotten up against my door and out of the rain... fuckwits.

Me: I didn't receive my Prime package. The door in the delivery photo isn't even from my house.

Amazon: Can you take another look outside, check areas around your porch, behind bushes?

Me: I took another look outside, and my front door still doesn't look like the one in the picture 😂🤣

No but I will never order anything that weighs over a hundred pounds from those fuckers.

In NOV2022 I bought 2 JBLSRX835P's from them. Allegedly (it appeared so at first) cheaper than local even with tax. Free shipping......until it wasn't. At check out there was $250 for shipping. I thought oh well......that's cool at least it will go to the FedX hub I have everything sent if it's FedX.

And then the dumbass "sales engineer" calls me to inform, it won't be FedX because they're too heavy and those type of freight shipments can't be picked up at the hub you chose. I'm WTF?!?!? I have freight shipments over 200lbs sent there regularly!!!! Anyway......kinda felt sorry for the poor bastard. I don't think he knew WTF he was talking about, or doing. He (Matt Langston) didn't have a clue and my patience was wearing thin......so I ask "well how are they going to be shipped?"

In typical slimey salesman bullshitism he replies "oh it will be Estes LTL freight....they are awesome, once in the system you can track and request hold for pickup. Our customers love them. You'll have no issues."

NOT!!!!!!

The shipment arrived at a Ft Worth, TX hub in 3 days.

I couldn't pick it up for 2 weeks they (Estes) tell me because "that's how long it take to get a crew to unload the trailer they're in".

WTF!?!?!? Oh well....I waited and then checked back 14days later as directed.

Now the dumb fuckers at the Estes freight hub couldn't find it!!!!

Sweetwater was useless resolving......so I just drove out to the hub with my invoice copy in hand. Wait another 2hrs. They finally find it. I load it and haul ass outta there!

I'm not buying shit from those fuckers anymore!!!!
