Calling all tall guitar players. I am looking at some new guitars, and for my entire life I have struggled with not looking like Lurch from Addams Family holding a regular guitar. I am 6'6, it's not like I am 7'2. I don't really care that much but hey, it's aesthetics. I am looking into a ES335 right now...but for other tall guitarists...what are some models that you feel like look "good" when you play them. I swear if any of you say "just play bass" I'm gonna glass ya m8.

I’m 6’3” and I think the ESP Lynch Guitars look “right” on tall guys, specifically the Kamikazee or Sunburst Tiger models as the bodies are oversized and the necks are wide. Same with Jackson King Vs, Robin Crosby was 6’5” . Good luck in the search !

Seconding Jackson King V’s and V shaped guitars.
Third. I’m 6’4” and feel most comfortable with V’s. ESP/LTD DV8 V’s are freaking huge. GMP and Dean V’s are fairly large. My buddy is currently building me an oversized Bich.

6'3 playing USA custom shop Dean MLFs/Washburn Dimes and explorers. Everything else looks like a ukulele.

The ML shape is great for sitting too, either on your hip or between your legs classical style.

Look at what Ian Thornley uses. Mostly Suhr now.
He's always said he has the same problem.
Ian has said he loves Les Pauls, but he looks like he's holding a mandolin when he plays one lol.

What about that Paul Gilbert Fireman or Iceman, whatever it’s called. He’s a tall dude, and that guitar looks pretty cool, imho.

Vandenberg is a tall dude, around 6'6 and he's a Les Paul player, looks fine. I'd say a ES335 would be more than fine.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I am not a big fan of the "crazy" body styles. I honestly always wondered if there was a way to have bigger body. I know there was a guy in a punk band named Pennywise we played with a long time ago, he was a big dude and he had a big body RG, of course I cant get custom guitars like I am sure he did. I am just going to play bass now.

How about an Explorer or Firebird?

Have you ever worked with making guitar bodies, Bob? You are fairly talented.

Did a couple tele bodies but I haven’t been doing any woodworking except around the house stuff.

I always thought about a big body, even if its basswood or alder or whatever. A fat oversized body. But I always worried about "dick bigger than balls" type scenario in respect to the neck body ratio.

Explorer, 335, Gretsch

Maybe grab a baritone? The added scale length should de-Lurch you and take care of any dick/balls ratio issues   I’m a mere 6’1 so I feel pretty good with a LP.

I'm 6'3" and playing a Les Paul works and looks great for me.
Played a PRS for a while, and aesthetically didn't look good on me haha
