Technical question regarding amplifier signal chain

Scenario of a guitar amp that has a direct out and effects loop capability: When using a direct out to another power amp; is the direct out after the preamp signal only, OR is the direct out after preamp and effects loop signal? Also, does tapping into the direct output affect the signal that goes to the speaker out at the end of the chain?

I am convinced that is logarithmically related to wallet thickness. I cannot prove it because mine is flat.

Not an expert on this subject but I think in most all cases, the direct out would include whatever’s happening in your fx loop, and I don’t think it should affect the signal going to the cab(s)

Would the signal be powered or unpowered? I would assume unpowered.
