Pulled the trigger on a UK68!

I’m totally losing my shit. Curiousity, anticipation, excitement and so on—you know how it is!!

I’d love to hear any and all thoughts, experiences, opinions etc on the UK68/67—or any other Morris amp that you own/owned or have played, especially his plexi type circuits.

I’d really love to hear specifics about the tone, feel, character etc of Morris’ amps. Fire at will🤟

What's his lead time now? Last I had talked to him, it was around 12 weeks.

That is exciting. When i ordered my amp, i was considering morris, eddie lenz, and an old jmp. They all were enticing

You will be blown away. Here is my stable.

Oh hell yeah.

Any commonalities, tone-wise?
A little bit, but not enough to sell any of them. They all do different things. My favorites for high gain are the 60 watt SIRROM and the UK78 (boosted). But the XSIII really does everything well with the dual DRIVE and CRUNCH gains. Can get an awesome dirty-ish breakup with my strat all the way up to 80’s metal with a humbucker depending on how you set the gains.

I will say this…….you will never find a better master volume regardless of which model you choose. Even the UK78 sounds full and clear when just barely cracked.

I like what I've heard of the XSIII Classic. It's right up my alley. He makes great amps, and he knows what he is doing.

I'm super grateful to call Glen Morris a friend, and he makes the best amps I've ever played. PERIOD.

My first amp I purchased from him is my single channel version of his 'Grinder' that he did custom for me with some tweaks, in my favourite tolex colour!

Yeah, I wish mine was the Classic. But it wasn’t developed at the time I bought the XS.

Yeah I’ve heard a lot of praise for the Morris MV design over the years.

Personally, MV is a tool I use mostly for live shows or rehearsal—so I can sit in that good/sweet spot in the overall mix. I’m not much of a bedroom player. (Actually, I am. But I just forgo the amp in that situation.)

What about tone, feel etc? Stiff, bouncy, chewy, vintage, modern, punchy, sweet, open, organic, bright, harsh, twangy, dynamic etc etc? I’m dying to hear about this kind of stuff. Depends on the amp model, PUs, player, how it’s dialed and so on, of course. But, still. I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences etc.

Y’all know the deal: there’s only so much we can glean from YouTube videos. They sound great though!

I gotta say: Glen’s reputation, his written descriptions of the UKs and correspondence with him are what really sold me on the amp.

Videos, demos, clips etc are really only able to give a general impression of tone and character, and cannot convey the way an amp feels. That’s why I love good, thoughtful, written reviews.

Anyways, I’m just stating the obvious here, eh?! I’m just so stoked and wanna hear all about Morris amps.
