It's because he tries to remove a lot of the bullshit mysticism from guitar gear and some people are so weak minded that when he reveals exactly how they've been foolishly susceptible to snake oil marketing, they direct their anger at the messenger.

He's totally Ned Flanders...I love his vids though, goes into the history and the details of pedals and knows his stuff. Now and again he identifies a cheap pedal that might be of use or interest to me. He did also say wait a few days because prices will jump up and then back down after his video...

He is also one of the few company owners who has no problem giving credit to other builders or mass producers of good sounding gear. He's honest. I don't get bored of him like I do the others.
 
I just need him to jump on those Danelectro pedals they put out about 18 years ago. I had a buddy who worked for them at the time and I got 3 of them to try out before the release, they’re still chilling in a closet in mint condition. The Trans OD is actually a really nice pedal. If anyone wants in on this hot action I’ll start my opening bid at tree fiddy ($350.00), get in now though cuz once Josh does a video on it I’m gonna have to raise it to $4K.

Yeah I got one for around $30 back in the mid 2000’s. It’s actually a great boost pedal with some amps. I always found it to be similar to the Maxon OD808 but less honky and a little duller sounding.

18 years ago you could just innocently name a product the “Trans OD” with no reason for concern.
 
I liked the Hardwire CM-2 better. It's a more refined, higher quality Bad Monkey.

I just checked Reverb, and people are selling them for $250-$600? WTF is wrong with people??

My buddy periodically sends me texts of "holy shit xxx is selling for $$$$ now!?!?!" With a reverb listing of something way overpriced. Every time I have to explain that listing something at a certain price doesn't mean they're selling for that price.

I feel like I need to send him a link to all the Bad Monkey pedals and watch his head explode haha.
 
I bought my Bad Monkey for $50 back in 2014. I still have it. It sounds great for me though I have nothing to compare it to because it's the only OD pedal I've ever needed! Maybe I should sell it way high, if I'm lucky!

I still have the box.

I'm just catching on to this, I had no idea the BM was the hot thing right now! These prices - wow, just wow. I have one - new and in the box. But I will not take advantage and sell it for these prices. Not because I don't need the cash, it has been compared to the Klon after all :-)

What's next? Someone will post a video comparing the Danelectro Fab Tone to the Analogman King Of Tone?:giggle:
