Which pedals he praise in the video?

The more important question is “Which pedals has he praised in ALL his videos” and the answer is hundreds-

The Bad Monkey is far from the only discontinued pedal he’s done videos on. That’s exactly why this shit is so arbitrary. It’s not Josh calculating which pedal is going to cause the biggest reaction, it’s dumbasses on the internet.

I asked because i have an old Ibanez GE10, which work well and is quiet too, and to me is better then new Boss GE-7. I would be surprised if he get it. His video are just for make a fuss and get views ($$$)

I no longer open click bait shit. I stay clear of many you tubers looking for clicks, subscriptions, bell smashing, patriot shit, etc...fuck them.

JHS isn't click bait shit at all though.

Is "click bait" just code for "youtube videos I don't like" now?

He dosent seem to have much opinions on eq’s other than an eq is an eq, never really heard him say one is better than the other

seems Josh's vid on EQ pedals didn't create the same kind of frenzy

That's because the EQ video doesn't recommend any one specific EQ pedal, and most/all of the EQ's he talks about are still being made.

"Frenzy" videos only really happen when they're about a single piece of discontinued gear, where people feel like if they don't get one now, there won't be any available to get later.

If Digitech reissues the BM I wonder how much more valuable the current ones will be.

Good point. He didn't demonstrate the vintage tonez of the Boss PQ-4 or TCE Dual Parametric EQ, or other discontinued EQ pedal. :ROFLMAO:

And an overdrive is an overdrive... start to see a pattern how he judge pedals :D

I’ve never heard him say that, he’s usually pretty detailed with every overdrive explaining what it’s based on and what’s different and how that affects the tone, eqs I guess just aren’t that different

Eh, it's not really the same thing. All EQ pedal are (or should be) linear. All they do is just push specific groups of frequencies up or down. The only thing any given EQ pedal does differently than another EQ pedal is push different groups of frequencies around. The reason guitar players don't go crazy over them is because EQ requires like 1 to 2 whole minutes of learning about how they work before you can use them properly to shape your tone into a sound you want, and most guitar players don't have time for that kinda fancy nerd ass book learnin. And EQ pedals don't even have an instant out-of-the-box wow factor that knocks your socks off from just turning them on. Boring! YAWN! NEXT!

Drive pedals, by contrast, are much simpler to use and produce much more complicated, non-linear mojo, each one sounding vastly different than the last... or at least that's what most guitar players think. I mean look at how different all the shapes and colors are of the boxes the circuits are in. They CAN'T sound the same if the boxes look different, right? So of course guitar players lose their shit over a particularly inexpensive one when it is shown to sound the same as a really expensive one.

He’s done videos on discontinued stuff that hasn’t created a frenzy, which is why I keep saying it’s entirely arbitrary-

There’s plenty more of them, those were just the ones I saw flicking my finger across my ipad to scroll through the videos on his channel. If people actually looked at the amount of videos he’s done and the content of those videos, I’d assume anyone with half a brain can see that it’s fairly impossible for him to do any of this intentionally.

I really think the Bad Monkey thing happened specifically because of the Klon comparison. If that video had been exactly what it was, minus the Klon section, its effect would probably have been no different than any of his other videos.

Basically, Klon tone chasers are a special kind of nuts.

Some are good, some not so good. I watch some of his stuff. He's knowledgeable and humorous but some stuff sucks. This one clearly baited many therefore categorized as click bait. I never watched the vid honestly and never will.

All I know is that the BM is my buddies favorit OD. He lost his, and prices are so insane ($100-$150 before this video even!) I let him borrow mine. I'm probably never going to see it again. So really I just blame JHS for virtually stealing mine.

I'll give him $40.00 for one, if it's signed by the monkey itself.
