hey if you guys want embedded flash working add this code:

Just thought it might be cool :D

There are options in the ACP for allowing embedded flash, but I'm not sure it's enabled, nor am I certain it should be. ;)

Does a custom bbcode entry still need to be added since the board supports it natively?

I tired enabling it a bunch and the [flash] tag never worked. No idea why, so that was my solution.

Hey Chris and Bob, thanks for getting the board back up, I didn't know what the deal was till this morning, haha. Sounds like a lot of work to get it back up and I'm sure everyone appreciates it.

Like I said, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Also known as "Murphy's law."

Murphy's Law - "What can go wrong, will." (or something like that)

So is this running on phpBB 3 now then? A day or two ago I did see the stock theme and it looked far better than what is currently being used. I've always hated the phpBB v2 looks, just bad fonts and awfully tiny everything with lots of wasted space.

If I may say, i think you should really opt for a theme that doesn't extend to full screen width. You know how newspapers have those small columns? That's because they're easier to read, unlike most forums where on a 1600x1200 resolution screen a single line can be REALLY long. See for example this post on the phpBB main site: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... adba56a60b
Much nicer to read when a post is long vertically but not horizontally.

Oh and definitely don't go with the old theme because it looked like crap.

There's a new theme installed named "bloo". It narrows the forum as you prefer.

well, thanks for going insane just for us Bob
much appreciated.

Thats funny, I hate fixed width websites, i can't take advantage of my monitor or resizing.

I'm not a big fan of them either for forums, although I do like the way some websites that are setup like that look.

I think it looks fine now. Bringing back a server to life after a hard crash is never easy.
Good job!

Alright guys, there's a LOT of work to do, yet again. Getting this board back after the hosts hardware failed and brought the board down hard has been a huge challenge to say the least.

I'm not going to go into all the gory details but let's just say getting this thing back to where it is now was a challenge. All the posts between Monday and Friday night are lost. Restoring to the Thursday backup seemed to cause issues and to make a long story short, the board crashed and burned. I think I could probably get it to work but at this point I've spent more time than I hoped, so we're going to start from here.

The bbcode is broken again so Chris will need to whack all the smileys again... there are some other things too, but I'll remember them once I get my sanity back.

I think you did an excellent job !!!!! :m16:

Agreed!

Thanx for all the hard work, Bob!

You did a great job!

Found it, though I eventually ended up using a full width theme because the layout of the bloo theme doesn't seem too good. Needs contrasting color headers etc. It's these little things that always make phpBB seem like it's years behind vBulletin...

Somehow, I didn't expect it would be sufficient for you.
