The best wah for my Herbert.

I have a RMC3 wah pedal... it's the most versatile wah pedal in my opinion... the only problem with it is that you must tweak it in order to obtain your sound... you have infinite possibilities with it (that's another problem :) )... the pedal is built like a tank... I have also a Morley but I hate the sound... I modified it in order to sound better but still it's bad.
Your options are: RMC, Fulltone, Budda, Carl Martin, VOX, Dunlop... and many more boutique pedals.

BTW, In case of clarification. Finland prices are 99% same as i.e. German prices. Only if you buy from crappy average places you may get plundered. For almost every product the price I pay from a particular dealer that I strongly support is Thomann prices minus 1 to 10%. Unfortunately the overal price correlation does not apply to cars or motorcycles :aww: .

It is imperative that you tell me about this place. Everything I check out is a lot more expensive than German prices, not to mention double or even going towards triple from American prices (try strings...).

Remember... Imperative. :gethim:

The Ibanez WD7 has worked great for my uses. I tried it side by side with the Dunlop units and preferred the Ibanez. Better treadle movement and all the adjustment options you can think of. The only drawback is the large size.

How much did you pay for it in Finland?

If I recall correctly I paid EUR 350 + Morley Bad Horsie I. :D
One of the best deals I have ever done (might have been slightly more, but still...).

I think I got a quote of EUR 1100 for the newer DCR-2SR. However I do not see any point why to "upgrade" and especially because I favor the sound of DCR-1SR.

How do you turn it on? It has a switch on the side?! Is that comfortable? I mean...i have only to step on my bad horsie, and it´s on.

It works just as any other Dunlop. It has a switch underneath the pedal. However, it is possible to mod the pedal to operate as i.e. Bad Horsie.

I apologize that I may be stupid, but for some reason I do not get your price comparison comments. Of course, the prices of certain products are way higher in Finland like in general in Europe when compared to U.S. BUT...I think you have also recognized that many of European products are way more expensive in U.S. as in Europe (e.g. Diezel). Please note, that I am not claiming that in general the prices are at the same level in Europe as in U.S. The price level of freaking everything in Europe is higher as in U.S. but you need to consider the very very very big picture involving macro and micro economical factors in terms of accepting the basis of the common price-level differences.

Of course some products like the strings that you mentioned are a bit more expensive here. A 6-string package may be like EUR 6,5 in Germany where as the same pack here in Finland might be EUR 9. Then again you have to pay the unbelievable EUR 20 for the delivery from Germany to Finland which may take 3 to 8 weeks depending on the motivation of the German store in relation to international postal services. In general the amps, cabs, guitars, PA-piles, processors, etc. is the same price. Of course the dealers and importers will try to charge a bit more, but please establish a satisfying customer relationship with your dealer and you will find out that the prices are not that bad.

Well, I don't really know is the the most suitable place to continue this conversation. All in all, this is a thread to help the guy to find the best wah pedal (or unit) for him.

I just meant that I don't know any good shops here in Finland. Maybe I don't buy enough stuff for people to remember me, or I just go where I can find where I want, in which case there's also not much of "relation building" going on. So I just wanted to know which places you frequent.

But some things are a lot more expensive, and it seems to me each shop in Helsinki specialises in different brands (strings/amps/guitars), so there isn't that much competition locally.

I'm sorry. I ended up in this thread looking for wah info myself.

I guess the 535q is pretty versatile and easy to find, but it's not true bypass and apparently difficult to mod. I'd try a Teese WoF or Wizard, if you can find them to try them out first. The WoF has some buttons to play with. I've got a RMC2 myself, and it's definitely quality, though it would be cool to try something more extreme such as that "Iommi" tycobrahe wah.
