Anyone tested the newly re-introduced rosewood board versions? I bought the maple board one couple of years ago and my other guitars have been collecting dust ever since... I would buy another maple board version if they offered it in candy apple red. šŸ˜
Not so far, my newest is a 2016 and the strings, both E's like to fall off the board much easier

Speaking of Es falling off the board; looks like Fender is offering a vintage/narrow Strat trem as an aftermarket part:

Anyone tested these? Looks like it is a direct fit for the YJM Stratsā€¦

I havenā€™t used the Fender one but I think the spacing is the same as the Callaham V/N that I put on my Gilmour Strat and I fucking love it. On my other partscaster (standard Fender trem) Iā€™m constantly slipping off the high E (also because the original owner filed the fret ends down way too much and the string just slips off) so itā€™ll be getting the Callaham when I re-fret it. The whammy bar insert is worth the price of admission alone for me, fucking hate dealing with a loose bar.

Many folks have done the callaham swap with favorable results! The kess expensive way is to simply practice the scalloped board more. Have to develop a super light touch, which will eventually pay for itself by not wearing frets!

I've been asked for this video more than any other for the past few years, now that I finally bought a USA Custom Shop I was able to get it done!

I've been asked this many many times over the years, finally made a video about it!

Yep. I am definitely getting this at some point for my 1972 Strat (Real one, not reissue.) The high E falls off the side of the board way too easy when you get near and above the 12 Fret. I can't imagine this NOT solving the problem.

Interesting, I haven't heard of this problem with vintage strats. I have a 77' and it doesn't have the problem at all šŸ¤”

Have you ever loosened the bolts and adjusted the neck in the pocket? A lot of times this happens that's the reason why - the neck shifted at some point in shipping or what have you and the neck is just slightly off causing the high e to go off the fretboard.

I've heard a few folks changing the bridges with favorable results!
Yes, the narrow string spacing bridge works very well! I swapped the trem a few days ago and there is more room for the E strings at the edges of the fretboard in the higher register. Someone mentioned the problem being caused by the neck being shifted to wrong position but in my case the neck pocket is tight and the neck is centered perfectly. The fret ends are quite heavily rounded so it caused the space towards the fret end to be quite small. I am happy I made the trem swap to a narrow string spacing oneā€¦

I did and the problem improved slightly. Much better, but still there.

Probably the #1 Asked question of me! Which model is your favorite?

Let's see them!

Tried a comparison video for the tones of RW vs. Maple, let me know what you think!
