Time to get started with The Kids' Real MLB 2025 Power Rankings ....... starting with my top 6........ Will update as the season approaches or move the list around but in general once it gets going that doesn't happen unless something big changes......

The Kids Real MLB 2025 Top 6 Power Rankings Feb 23rd 2025.....

Based off Total Team WAR, Starting Pitching rotations projections and the WAR-Ratio as a baseline along with other factors and considerations for teams with most likelihood and highest likelihood of making postseason for 2025.......

My Rankings are more accurate and to a lower margin of error when it came to my Regular Season and Post Season Power Rankings in the 2023 season vs the "experts"......they actually reflected performance by teams better than MLB/ESPN/Verlander/The-Ringer.... as good as the "experts" in 2024 and I don't have a full department of people and "professionals" or "experts" like Ken Rosenthal running around a floor of 500 people and a nationwide network of hundreds if not thousands of reporters and journalist..........

It's just me, my WAR-Ratio method and other factors and considerations, basic stats available to everyone and a little bit of calculus along with my Ti-84+ calculator.......thats it......you heard it here first.......

Which of these top three AL West teams doesn't make postseason...... we've seen how quickly the wheels fall off the bus with the Rangers even with decent numbers and a lot of their numbers that push them over the top are because DeGrom is expected to meet projections, which he hasn't for the past 3+ seasons...... stay healthy..... and become better than ever after injury and injury in the age of the Pitch Clock...... if he gets injured, doesn't perform to expectations or tanks it's hard to see how the Rangers would make postseason IMO.....

The numbers say Rangers are better than Astros too and the Mariners and the "smart money" is going with the Rangers it seems...... just have a hard time seeing how to place that much faith on rolling the dice on DeGrom, don't get me wrong I want to see DeGrom healthy again and kick ass but a lot of their hopes for postseason depends on a 100% healthy DeGrom at his peak and while that may be possible that is a lot of hope and risk in one basket from that perspective IMO.

1000000216.jpg

Another thing against the Rangers is that Rotation may look pretty..... but both the Astros and Mariners are projected to have more IP by a considerable margin and lower ERA below 4.00 while the Rangers expect a 4.00+ projected ERA......

It looks good on paper and Total Team WAR says the Rangers are the best team in the AL West but it's very top heavy, delicate, eggs in a few baskets and looking deeper has some pretty big flaws as in pitching..... both the Astros and Mariners seem more robust in terms of when they have to think on their feet and the shit hits the fan too..... when that happens to the Rangers they are no better or worse than the Angels or Athletics in that sense in the AL West...... with pitching like that how the hell do the Rangers make postseason :dunno:

It's pretty poor pitching on all fronts relative to their division nvm the entire league...... and these are projected numbers with a healthy DeGrom in a Rangers rotation.....look at IP tied with the White Sox and only the Nationals will have lower numbers there and hell that speaks and says lot after White Sox last season and Rangers position in projected IP alone nvm the 4.00+ projected ERA.

Teams ranked by projected ERA per fangraphs.

With Shoheis 54 HR and 59 SB he was just 3 HR and .9 WAR shy of my projections for him but still won MVP……. And again projected this ahead of any “expert” at MLB, MLB powered by Google AI or the donkeys at the Baseball Writers Association of America ^_^

———————————————————————-

This is the second season and second season in a row now where I projected MVP ahead of the “experts” at MLB or the donkeys at the Baseball Writers Association of America and even ahead of MLB powered by Google AI….

-2 seasons back to back ^_^

It’s not a coincidence and it’s not luck…..

The Kids Real MLB Flashbacks ….. May 7th, 2024….. at the time Betts was the “experts” favorite……projected ahead of every “expert” in the industry at the time…..

1000000239.png

Currently leading the MLB and NL in HR, AVG, OPS and SLG Ohtani is defying all expectations and projections yet again...... Setting the tone for another MVP but this one looks to be even more amazing than the last even though he's not pitching.......

He is nearly 100 points higher in AVG than projected, 50 points higher OBP than projected, 100+ points higher for projected SLG AND 150+ points above projected OPS.......and hes on pace with 11HR and 2.4 WAR so far to do some really disgusting things this season with projected and on pace for 57-58+ HR and 10-11+ WAR and thats not even factoring June and July conditions......

He may even break Gioncarlo Stantons NL record for most HR in a season during the Statcast Era.....

The only other real comparison to Ohtani relative to the times/eras and taking the type of player he is being a two way and coming off from pitching and just focusing on hitting in a historical context really is Babe Ruth at this moment......maybe there needs to be a separate league for this guy and a higher MVP award like MLB MVP, Diamond MVP or Platinum MVP or something like that but until such award exist NL MVP will do nicely given Ohtanis pace ^_^

2024 MLB Gems....... Shohei Ohtani/Cancer

Never mind Skubal wasn’t even on the “experts” radar at MLB on Fox/ESPN/MLB…… I even picked more Cy Young candidates than the “experts” or MLB powered by Google AI….. using nothing but stats/analytics available to 8 billion + people……

Ahead of every “expert” on the planet or even AI ^_^

——————————————————————————————-

Yours truly….. some schmuck from Anaheim CA that never went to an Ivy League or some fancy private school BEAT every “experts” preseason projections for Top 10 pitchers and also beating MLB powered by Google AI….. with nothing else but statistics/analytics available to everyone on planet Earth along with a little bit of Calc and a Texas Instruments TI-84+ calculator, pencil, pen and paper…….

——————————————————————-

4 of my top 10 are actually in the running for Cy Young vs MLB “experts” 3 out of 10 at this point in the season….. not perfect by a long shot but yeah again better than the “experts” in the industry….. and I made these projections months before the season even started……and yeah 1 out of my 10 picks is actually winning Cy Young vs 0 out of 10 for the “experts”…….

I BEAT every “expert” at their own game in regards to projections and I’m even beating and offering better results than MLB powered by Google AI…….

When it comes to what I have to offer and my results vs “MLB experts” or MLB powered by Google AI my methodology and insight using the WAR-Ratio has revolutionized how to see the game, how to better build teams, how to better make projections and how to actually explain what’s going on in the field in a better way than anything any “expert” has used in the past 100+ years or the combined 10,000 year knowledge of a panel of so called “experts”……. I did it last season and did it again this season…..

It’s not luck and it’s not coincidence…..

Vs the "experts" at MLB/ESPN/MLB on Fox......

I mean for example last season the "experts" had Rangers as a fave overlooking the same factors I mentioned and brought up....... and me and the "experts" both had Mariners on our Rankings I had them on my top 5 but they sure as hell were a lot closer to postseason than the Rangers were and they come into 2025 with the Best pitching staff in the AL West and arguably the AL/MLB aside from the Dodgers maybe and better even as an all around top tier pitching staff..... they have adjusted approach on the plate and that pitching staff is the Best you can get money or not.......

Also I mean deja vu with the "experts" overvalued projection on the Rangers....... I didnt even have them on my Rankings last season without qualm and they arent coming on this time either...... the pitching relative to their division just isnt there nvm the rest of the AL or MLB.......

2024 Rankings for the Rangers from the "experts" and donkeys at MLB/MLB on Fox...... the "experts" truly are becoming more and more useless every season at MLB/ESPN/MLB on Fox and the Baseball Writers Association of America.....same issues Rangers had in 2024 are the same issues they have and are going to have going into 2025 for said reasons......

Actual results...... even with a healthy DeGrom in 2024 it wouldnt have made a damn difference given his projected WAR for that season as good as it was projected for......

On September 1, 1971, the Pittsburgh Pirates became the first Major League Baseball (MLB) team to have an all-Black and Latino starting lineup....... they didnt get special treatment, they didnt ask for special treatment to get to the MLB, they earned their right to play on the field and they didnt think anything of it other than to play with the team and play to win......... the 1971 Pirates went on to win their division, win the AL title and win the 1971 WS...... some good company on that starting lineup.......

Also PS......

WAR may be a hard stat to understand but pretty much put its a value assigned for a player for Wins they bring to a team in a season statistically over a 162 game season over a replacement player or an average player. For example let's say all the White Sox players are a 0 WAR average and have a Total Team WAR of 0.

52+0= 52 wins a season statistically over a 162 season......

The statistics pretty much are baked in for the most part because there are so many damn games a season. It works out over a 162 game season that a team full of 0 WAR players or a team with a Total Team WAR of 0 produces 52 wins a season over 162 games +/- 3-5 games give or take for a margin of error ideally.

Say they add Ohtani at 10 WAR a season for example somehow hypothetically that would add an additional 10 WAR to their Total Team WAR.

52+10= 62 wins a season statistically over a 162 game season.......

Adding Ohtani or a 10 WAR player for example changes the projection here of 52 wins a season to 62 wins a season. It's really that simple even though it may seem complicated.

Essentially WAR or Wins Above Replacement just breaks down the value of a player and how many wins they produce statistically over a 162 game season relative to a Replacement Player or Averege player at 0 WAR.

The History of Baseball is the History of America........

And that history shows that men back then didn't want special treatment, they wanted equal treatment and when it comes to the right to step on a field special treatment is not required and color white or black doesn't matter either....... all that matters is winning and nothing else and performing to a certain level and standard above the normal and above or beyond anyones expectations..... if you cant do that you dont belong on a field and if you can the opportunity is there and privilege as well ........ that is what Baseball is all about and what America is all about.....

As said the history of Baseball is the History of America and even since Civil War times the tradition of America and the tradition of Baseball go hand in hand and no better example than the Negro Leagues and the history of African American/Black players in America and in Baseball as well as the history of white players who welcomed and played with them too amongst them Babe Ruth.

Baseball is not just about Baseball and in a way it ties in to American ideals and values that were as important 150+ years ago as they are now and in a way it's a sport that embodies the American Dream IMO and America.....

A favorite among all baseball fans......

Ruth regularly participated in barnstorming games against Negro League and Cuban All-Star teams........

Honestly if Vlad Jr is asking for 450-500 million over 10 years...... I say its worth it if you automatically "arbitrate" the current season as a part of it and kind of make it 9 years.... either way its not a bad deal for what you get out of Vlad.....

Thats a great deal for the Blue Jays or any team and well any team...... if Vlad does better this season and all the numbers say he very damn will hes just going to cost more by free agency. May as well lock in Vlad now given the value he brings and the price its a fair market value for a player with consistency and projected for good things. Opt out for Vladdy too and bonuses.

Thats a good deal and better than a Soto Deal IMO.

1000000261.jpg

I mean the Red Sox still gain a lot of value with Bregman in 2nd Base or 3rd base but and Devers brings value at the plate but he really kind of drags down the team remaining in 3rd base as he has had the 2nd worse defensive metrics in the MLB since 2021 for in errors.........

I mean the team is good but why not move positions or DH if it means a better team and a better chace at winning...... it just makes zero sense especially if Bregman is the best 3B in the MLB in general offensively and especially defensively..... hell Devers stands to have as good or even better numbers as a 2B or 1B or LF or RF or even a DH :dunno:

I mean also as good as the Red Sox have gotten I still feel they could improve the line up and have a more robust veteran arm....... Kyle Gibson is solid, consistent and like a cheap Verlander but not bad quality like a Kirkland Verlander...... also .290 BABIP last season and projected below .300 BABIP and decent projected WAR and a consistent 5 seasons to show for it...... given the WAR-Ratio hes actually undervalued and a stupid good bargain.....
