Who's got Warren?

Stephen Pearcy - "you can go see Ratt play my songs, or you can go see me play my songs"

I always thought that line was funny. But I read that he refused to be a part of the recording process at at all. Just came in at the last second and threw down vocals. Don't know if that is true or not.

"Ugh, here we go. I understand they guy wants to play music and doesn’t want to start over, but without at LEAST DeMartini, ya got nothing bro. It’s the same with Quiet Riot. A drummer is not the band, but then we have the same issue that popped up with Queensryche. These people don’t see their bands as a collective that creates art, but as a corporation. Fun. Maybe they should have Trump sing for them.

Hang it up. High."

Guess that's my answer.

So Ratt = Original drummer, that's it. LOLZA

Saw Pearcy last month at my work...His band was rocking..They sounded great. I was impressed. Blotzer has never impressed.

Legal fees.... Several hundred thousand $
Insuing tour gross.... A few hundred bucks.
Being a ginormous loser douche... Priceless.

Too bad these guys are such idiots cuz infestation was a bad ass record.

Let's be honest, nobody goes to a concert to see RATT play, they go to see warren play. Nobody Blotzer gets will be able to cop WArren's chops and feel unless he scours YouTube to find the right guy. Blotzer is also a very average drummer. Never really liked his approach to drumming and his fills are shit.

Not really at all. Only guitar players know who Warren DiMartini is. A lot of people still remember Ratt as having a few hits back in the day and the name will still get some attraction from the older 80's crowd. Most normal drunks who are going to see Ratt won't give a ratts ass, no pun intended, about who's playing the guitar solos.

I think that singer with warren, carlos and bobby (who ever on bass) would be pretty cool ........ i'll just wait for warrens solo album (and the thing he's doing with eric martin)

RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini says that he is "totally against" his bandmate Bobby Blotzer's decision to use the RATT name for the drummer's "tribute band" and is taking steps "to prevent any further misuse" of the brand.

Blotzer announced on Wednesday (September 23) that he was taking control of the RATT name and was planning to hit the road with a new version of the group, which played shows earlier in the year under the name BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE.

WBS, Inc., the company which owns the RATT brand, was originally formed by Blotzer, DeMartini and singer Stephen Pearcy. Pearcy lost his share of the name in court after splitting with the group in 2000. He returned to the band in 2006 but exited again last year. Blotzer has since expressed his desire to keep RATT alive with a new singer, but explained that DeMartini did not want to tour as RATT without Pearcy.

In an exclusive statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, DeMartini says that he does not have any objections to Blotzer performing RATT's music with other musicians, but makes it clear that he does not want the drummer to "solicit his tribute band as RATT."

DeMartini's statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET reads as follows:

"Back in March, Bob Blotzer phoned me and said he wanted to form a RATT tribute band and call it something like '…RATT EXPERIENCE.' I suggested he not use RATT in the title and call it something like BOB'S CELLAR as RATT's debut record, 'Out Of The Cellar', has rounded its third decade. He said something to the effect that he wanted to use RATT in the title 'like JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE.' I said I had no problem with him playing songs he recorded with RATT, but I didn't agree to him using the name in the title. He used it anyway.

"Now he is soliciting his tribute band as RATT which he is completely unauthorized to do. I am totally against it, and steps are being taken to prevent any further misuse of the name as well as representation about future RATT performances."

Joining Blotzer in the new "RATT" lineup are singer Josh Alan (SIN CITY SINNERS), bassist Scotty Griffin (ex-L.A. GUNS), and guitarists Doc Ellis (Jizzy Pearl's LOVE/HATE) and Blaze.

Shortly after announcing the formation of BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE in March, Blotzer posted a message explaining that while he "had the right to go out and tour as RATT, [he] would not consider that." He added: "This is not RATT, but a chance to go out a tour with complete familiarity in our music for you, the fans of RATT and myself humbly… After five years of us not touring, I'm bored and I want to play our songs that we all wrote and created. It ain't RATT, okay, but I'm confident after you see my band playing Ratt N Roll music, you'll agree that it kicked your asses, and you walk out with a good buzz on and in your ears when we start rollin' up on your town."

So now they're a Ratt cover band that owns the name. Good luck....

This is a funny story. So he legally owns the name but the article did not mention anything about the songs. Obviously he is using them but to me, as a guitarist that is the saddest pile of turds. As a band everyone needs each other and every band's writing process is different however don't guitarists write the music 90% of the time? Shit most guitarists probably tell the drummer what to play toboot.

I know there ARE bands who have drummers that write all of the music but I do not think that is the case with Ratt so as a drummer how are you going to form a NEW band but basically steal your former bands material and name. And how is a court going to rule in favor of this? I think it is ridiculous but that is just my opinion.

This is almost as bad as the Axle Rose story.

I suppose you need to have "chemistry" to "click"...but man...even if it is a "job", it sure must beat the hell outta mine. Too bad. Such a good band, so much talent wasted. But I did see their last tour, and they didn't have much fire. Great album to tour on though.

So these idiots just can't get along? Well it seems like Warren is the only sensible one out of the three and Percy seems like Axl Rose. In another realm of reality.

I'd rather go a show looking at only an urn full of Robbin Crosby's ashes beside a red Jackson V, with a RATT recording playing in the background than Bobby Blotzer with any other musicians.

Look at a band like Motley Crue. Despite some temporary lineup changes, they are getting ready to end their career with all four original members. So many of these metal bands from the 80s just blew it.

Agreed!

Supposedly now Warren is saying that he does not have permission to use the name.
