The next Boost , OD or Distortion ........... We have a Winner !!

You reached the pinnacle of awesomeness with the VBF Deluxe. Everything else is uncivilized.
And the depths of rage and barbarism with the jbthm-2….

Standout is the pedal I usually end up using. Just works very well for me.

I’d like seeing you’re take on the following:
Keeley Fuzz Bender
Roland Bee Gee
Boss FA-1
MXR Yngwie Overdrive

What about the original vfe focus?

It's IMO a better standout because you can set the lows/hpf to roll-off steeply, and the highs to slope shallow, which to my ears always sounds better even if you use little filtering anyways. Having the mix control is great for these.
I'm going to call this one as the winner ................ and take a whack at it.

so in about 3-4 weeks @dave74 I'll hit you up for your shipping info .....

and just for poops and giggles ........ I'll do a version of the Roland Bee Gee and the Boss FA-1 ......... can't give them away but will build them

I've owned the VFE Dragon, Standout and focus and built 2 standouts. I honestly prefer the focus as I think there is something more natural the way it sounds over the others the only bad is it is slightly noisier than the others. Really like being able to shape the low and high end. Congrats to dave!

I think I can make it quieter .............. working on that right now

That would be really cool! Both are underrated pedals that many here would probably like

The Keeley Fuzz Bender would be great in the future too because the voicing itself is one of my favorites as far as fuzzes go, but it just sounds too plastic-y, filtered to me. A better, more organic sounding version without those negative qualities would be amazing

I couldn't find a schematic that I trusted for the Fuzz Bender ....

I have a Standout and while I like it very much, the Focus sounds VERY appealing the more I read about it.
