The main problem as I see it is people don't know how to separate extremist idiots freaks and perverts in each group from normal people with differing views and walks of life.... lumping everyone into the same category with giant brushstrokes is NEVER a good idear.

Call me naive, but I'd like to believe that the average human being is capable of discerning the difference between accusing everyone in a group of a crime or certain behaviour and recognising that there's this phenomenon called individualism.

The "curve" reveals that for superficial characteristics, generalisation is more-likely to be accurate, whereas in cases of specialised / less-common / downright-immoral behaviour, the hit ratio is bound to be lower.

Heck, even coming to Australia as a 12-year-old South African kid was enough to teach me to appreciate the feeling of alienation and lack of belonging many experience. Kids' teasing only serves to amplify the feeling of course, which is something I'm guessing you have to address regularly in that capacity.

Well, first, the majority of them are definitely not liberal. Regarding intelligence, a large percentage are convinced in their own head they are right — contrary facts or simple logic be damned — because the TV, government or school told them. Furthermore, they don't think too deeply or consider second order effects when they righteously proclaim, "There should be a law for that!" And concernedly, a large percentage do seem oddly preoccupied with kids' sexuality, so there's that.
