No loose lips here. It doesn't sag much. Lower power gives some sag but nothing close to what I would call vintage sag. Some people like that. To me that equals ghost notes. Did I say I hate ghost notes. Some people like them. Me, Im a little ocd so they and other things drives me nuts. I just want to play and not be Mr. tech. I like a saggier amp sometimes but that means less filtering which means modulation if you like to turn the amp up. Every one I have ever played had it at high volume. It goes with the territory.

The low power does enable some sag...which I tend to prefer. I actually use low power the most. Another thing to get sag is to not use the dip switches above the gain pots. You could also use the switches, but turn up the gain to make the switches less effective. This adds in more gain and squish. From there adjust the gain style and use the bass knob to add in more bottom end chew. When I do this, I tend to use mid clipping.

I also like to use the pentode/triode switch to get rid of the big boom the CCV puts out. On triode, I can control the boom and get a smoother sound. Add in the voicing switches above the presence and punch and you have a ton of options.

Don't forget...speakers make a big difference. When I want the sag and chunk I prefer the G12-80's.

Yes, the options are endless with the amp. That usually pisses me off because I get tired of tweaking and get less interested in an amp. But, I got this fucker lined out. If I want sag, I get one of the Marshall's fired up!

My latest fetish....a Parametric EQ in the CCV's loop.

It really brings on the goods. Righteousness
