So the REVV G8 kicks swrious ass and works even at the lowest setting.

The good news is that it does a great job taming my overdrive, etc. The bad news is that it hadn't helped me with my 5150-III effects loop so now I know for sure it is defective and something is loose, etc definitely a grounding issue and need to get it fixed.

Gate rules though!

I finally used mine with a few different amps on Monday. Killer gate. Made the MT15 completely silent. It’s a keeper.

How is the decay? That is always the issue with noise gates for me.

I been thinking of trying this
It is a really nice gate and I think I could easily do some Helmet songs with that immediate drop of noise. I'm taking my amp in this weekend to get the effects loop issue fixed so will see how it does with a loop down the road.

The hold and release knobs let you really dial in the decay. Make it as natural or unnatural as you want. 4CM is the way to go. Used it with a IV, Marshall and MT15. It’s money. Just my opinion. I played an Axe 2 for almost 7 years so I missed having a rig that quiet. This is worth the asking price.

I have a G8 and a Phalanx right now, I prefer the G8, doesn’t cut the note in half and is still fast enough to gate the noise.

I’ve got a G8 on the way. Very curious how it’ll compare to my Phalanx & Golem (2 best ones I’ve had so far). The only others I still gotta try are the Wizard one and Donner Soph Gate

Few weeks? He backed up or what ?
Backed up like a 60 year old after eating a block of cheese.....

???

Seriously though, not sure but I'm ok with it. Local business and has a bunch of repairs. I'd rather help him out them some big shop.

I'm probably going to get a Boss Katana in the not so distant future and want to try it with that as well.

From what I've heard, it is doing a great job considering I have bad wiring in my house I'm sure, pedals, and a high gain amp.

G8 is a pretty good piece of kit - comparable to rackmount decimater, etc

Best in class is the LWA tannhauser and endless blockade though. It is unbelievably good.

Nice, good to see those Canadians Revv & Fortin have gotten at least one thing right so far lol. I’ve not tried any rack gates, but probably should

I honestly did not like the Endless Blockade at all when I had it. I can’t remember exactly what it was anymore (probably tone suck, which they’ve all had though, even the phalanx to some degree)

I use a tannhauser right now, and it has far less tone suck than the fartin, G8, phalanx, and any other gate i've ever used :dunno:

Tannhauser I’ve not even heard of. Will have to look into that one. Yeah the Zuul I didn’t keep. His TS’s though I meant were the one thing imo he did good on. The Phalanx to me is the least suck of what I’ve had so far, although it also depends how it’s hooked up. I felt like a moron for a while until I got it right lol. I actually sold it on reverb at one point and the guy returned it because he thought there was a squeal issue (he just hooked it up in the wrong order, which to be fair Highwind really should’ve explained in a manual) and then I was gonna re-list it, but decided to keep it once I got it figured out

I had a blockade before i had the tannhauser, and did the exact same thing honestly lol

When i hooked it up to my larry I got this weird squeal and couldnt figure it out. Turned out, i had the larry loop in parralel instead of serial

Live and learn
