Noice! Wierd on the damage though. Wonder how that happened?
You know, considering the box and the hardcase looked totally fine, Im thinking perhaps it had to do with cold weather and maybe pressure around the screws... Because both cracks happened right where the screws are... And the rest of the gutiar is immaculate!

Not sure if Im digging the Dimarzio Paf Classics though. They're almost too clear and smooth... Almost like they dont have any personality if you know what I mean.. I recorded some of our band practice last night. Hopefully Ill post a clip when I get off work.

Yeah the cold might just do that. I like some Dimarzio's and not others. Never played the classics. I have a Wolfetone Marshallhead in my Tyler and I love it. Also have a couple of Suhr singles in there that just plain spank.

EVH "repair" with some super glue

Congrats Shea !

Congrats Shea! Knock your future shows out of the box with it!

Regarding the pickups, have you tried raising them closer to the strings yet to see if you get a little more snarl?

Wow that guit looks amazing Shea!!! The fretwork looks damn good too!

Shame about the pickguard, but hopefully they can get you a new one and all will be fine

Congrats for the new guitar, Shea! That guitar looks very nice indeed!

Wow thats a cool looking guitar, how much do those go for?

Thanks brother! You know, I havent tried that yet.... The neck pickup is low, but the bridge looks about right to me...

Another thing I noticed, the taper on the volume pot is really weird. If you turn it halfway down, the guitar is inaudible! If you barely turn it down, it rolls off all the gain and becomes really dark... Im not sure if this is the pot itself or if there is some sort of capacitor in there thats contributing to it... It sucks because I cant do any of my volume tricks...

Means you don't have a treble bypass cap on...

Well I did know about that, and it explains the high end roll off... But the taper is really weird. I mean if you roll the volume back even less than halfway, the guitar becomes almost inaudible. Its very strange... You think the treble bypass cap would help this as well?

Nope a Tyler would help. :poke: :D

Seriously it probably has something to do with the pot. Since you will have to cahnge the pick gaurd you migh look into getting another pot with a better taper. My Tyler I have is the best Ive owned so far in that dept. Man it doesnt get dark much at all whne I turn it down. I had PRS withteh treble cap on it but it stil got dark.

No you need a Tyler. :poke: :D

The Tyler necks are waaaay too big for my hands, which sucks because the Burning Water finish is probably my favorite finish of all time.

Man I have shorter fingers myself and the necks arent like they used to be. Mine is very very comfortable. And this is coming from some who's fav neck is the Ernie Ball Axis. That neck is narrow.

That says a lot about the guitar if it broke already. Jeez, what a junker. :D

What a great looking guitar. I have read that they play extremely well. Would love to try one someday.

I haven't read the entire thread but will Vigier be able to replace the pickguard (or do they at least sell them so you could get a replacement)?

I recall their pickguards being extremely expensive. I'm sure Shea will get a discount though. :D

Nope...I'm guessing you might wanna replace it with a 500K reversed audio taper. My guess is that its a regular audio taper wired the wrong way around since it's a lefty.

I am proud of ya Shea, congrats and make Patrice proud bro!!!
