THEE HAMMER - Poor Seller

Be very careful if you do business with "THEE HAMMER" aka Garry "Clint" Hamilton - (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=9540).

I purchased his Titan Custom 200 (viewtopic.php?t=113303) and it arrived with a severely cracked headshell due to horrible packaging.

He also represented himself as the original owner of the amp. He was at least the 3rd person to own this particular amp.


Seller has gone mute on me - he will not reply to PM's to resolve the damage.

If you'd like more details, please contact me via PM. I'm more than happy to share pics as well as screen shots of the communication verifying my above claims.
 
@rlord1974 : Yes, sir. No joke (along w/ the little bit of bubble wrap to the left of the box). I don't know what this guy was "thinking" when he "packed" the amp.

@just42dave : I spoke to the seller on the phone and he seemed a trustworthy guy. Nice, articulate, what you'd hope for when working through a potential transaction. All that said, I screwed myself doing a paypal gift to the guy. So he has, up to this point, walked away from the transaction w/ $1200 and no remorse.

there is a way around gift if its bank or credit card:)
 
14 days have passed since last contact from seller regarding resolution and not so much as a peep out of him.

Avoid doing business with GaRRy "Clint" Hamilton aka THEE HAMMER. He will do you wrong.
 
Post this as a Buyer Beware in the Rig-Talk section! Not everyone checks here on a consistent basis.
 
Damn dude, I hate to hear that. I sold an amp to him a couple of years ago and it went fine. Guess I need to remove him from my sig as a good transaction.

I suppose a good buyer doesn't necessarily always translate to being a good seller.

I hear ya.

And just for the record, dooredge and I did a deal on SS.org for a Schecter C7 a couple years ago, and it was a flawless transaction.

Yup. dooredge is a good dude. Trustworthy as they come and super good friend of mine. We have done many deals together without issue. :rock:
 
now on to the flipside of the coin.


dooredge is a liar, and flew off the handle before allowing Clint to rectify the situation. It was obviously a shipping issue with the carrier used, and clint even contacted Zach from Titan amps to get a replacement headshell.




on top of that he paid paypal gift to save money, instead of doing things the proper way. he is unreasonable, and a raging asshole who defamed/slandered Clint instead of trying to work with him.
