As soon as my Mark IIC+ sells, I should be purchasing an Einstein

I have a question though; It can be controlled with a GCX or such like, even once the "mode" mod has been performed?

Good choice. I've got a Herbert rig that covers all bases out
of the box.

It really still baffles me and ceases to amaze me that anyone would change mechanically anything regarding Peter's amps. Peter is one if not the best and most innovative, creative and knowledgeable amp builder/amp designer in the world.

Do yourself a big favor when you get your Diezel and learn it's endless flexibilities over months of exhausted experimentation before hacking it up. It's a jewel as is!

This is the response I keep on getting. However, the reality is that I'm a Uni student who can't afford two amps right now. Everyone keeps telling me I should just hold onto the IIC+ though...

I wouldn´t sell it too. It would be a big mistake! Be patient and you´ll have both amps one day.

A big mistake based on personal experience or hearsay? I'm just curious, that is all.

I'm a bit partial to IIC+'s, but maybe it's just me. It's easier to contemplate what amp you will add to your rig when you have them
in front of you to listen to and mix together. I'm doing VH-4 left, IIC+ middle and the pre 250 92' Dual Rec. right. I would still love an Einstein though... :D
When I'm not feeling so lazy, I'll add a pic of the VH-4.

I have both and they are keepers. Actually sound great together too. IIC+'s are hard to find. Does yours have EQ and Simul-Class? If it doesn't have the EQ sell away!

Yeh, it's fully loaded. EQ, Simul-Class and Reverb.

Dude, your gonna hate yourself. :aww:   But easy come easy go. I traded one of my IIC+'s for a Herbert just recently.

This is a collectors Amp. In a few years it will be very expensive.

Just my .02 regarding the Mode Mod........

You can get pretty much the same effect without a mod by investing a few dollars in a good volume pot for your guitar that has a long, even taper. :D

The Diezels react incredibly well to volume adjustments from your guitar.

I've been thinking about the 3 modes, and The Mode Mod. If you're on Mode 3, could you more or less get to the Mode 2 sound just by reducing your guitar's volume a tad? And then continue on down to the equavalent clean sound of Mode 1?

That's the only way a Mode Mod would be redundant, in my mind. Otherwise, during gigs, if you use Mode 3 for your distortion, how do you get a clean sound? Walk over to the amp and manually switch to Mode 1?

Similarly, on the Lead channel, is it possible to reduce the volume on your guitar to get to the Mode 3 sound?
