Thinking about getting another 4x12 cab. Need opinions.

I have Marshall MF slanted equipped with G12EVH and it sounds great. However, once a guy came with Engl XXL and I was completely surprised, how fantastic it sounded. If it was not heavy as hell, I would buy it immediately.

Good advice here! I'm going to look for an EVH 5150III 4x12. Dumb question about these.... It looks like they have 3 different 4x12 cabs. The standard 5150III cab, the 5150III Stealth cab, and the 5150II EL34 cab. Other than cosmetic differences, are these all the same basically?

Yes, same with different color badges.

KSR makes nice cabs

Had a PPCHP8 412 ( K100s ). The actual tones were great with my Rectos and Marks - but the projection from the cab was narrow. I ended up finding an old PV straight 412 ( K85s ) that has a much broader, swath of sound ( funny enough at less than half the price ). So now I love running that cab in stereo with my Soldano V30 straight 412 and Marshall T75 1960 cab. All my favorite speakers.

I currently have an Orange PPC 412. I really like the cabinet but I'm thinking of adding another 4x12 for the stable. The Orange has the stock V 30's, and it plays well through my Mark amps and KSR colossus. However, I have a 6505, Silver Jubilee, 5153 el34 50 watt that I think may sound better if I had another 4x12 with a different speaker setup. What 4x12 would you recommend for this or am I nuts for considering getting another 4x12?

They dont, sadly. I would be buying some of their contemporary 412s now if they still offered them.

I have been looking at possibly getting an unloaded cab from StageCraft or Sourmash. Those are typical specs though, not oversized like the Avatar was.
Check guitar center used, they have 2 Avatar Comtemporary 4x12’s now. Shipping has been ~$40 IME.

The Avatar Contemporary has very little resonance, even with the center brace removed I wish it had more. It’s a very clear sounding cab; it imparts very little “mojo”. Rear loaded (but I modified mine with a router to make it front loaded).

The Avatar Traditional has much more resonance. Front loaded. It’s perhaps the best recording cab I’ve owned, and I’ve owned a bunch. Currently have 8 cabs and the only others that can hang for recording are the Carvin Vai Legacy and a Soldano.
