Thinking of buying a V

I think almost everyone that plays sitting puts in classical position sometimes sitting with left leg higher to support very base of neck

And yes, as soon as you buy a pointy v and strum your first powerchord you can now spin your head around excorcist style

I've had three V's. A Hamer Vector, a Gibson faded, and a white Epi Custom shop. The Hamer was killer, I had Biltoft HS-90's in there that smoked, should've kept it. The Gibson was also one of the rare birds with ebony and a single crescent moon at the 12th, should've hung onto that one too. The Epi had a BASEBALL BAT neck I couldn't jive with. i love V's but they don't make a good couch guitar so that limits my time with them and I wind up selling.

I had 3 different Vectors at one point. 2x XT/FT and a red one (cheap line). The red one I got at a steal from the UK back when Brexit wasn't a thing, so no customs/tax hassle and I sold it pretty quickly. It was a decent beginners/intermediate guitar, but nothing more.
Now the 2 XT/FT's were Indonesian and Chinese and while the Chinese may have looked better (better flame maple veneer top and a tad lighter in color), the Indonesian one resonated better. Had a different jack location too (inside of the V). Replaced almost all electronics, pickups and put Tusq nuts in there. They became great player guitars.
As I was the 'KK' in a Priest tribute at the time, these came in handy, but after that band collapsed, I sorta grew tired of them, since I had other guitars that played and sounded better.

Nice! Mine was a flametop like the first picture, with the jack on the front. I think it was Indonesian. It was resonant and played as good as the Gibson I had but it had smoking hot buckers in there from the factory, so i swapped them out. To think neither of those instruments cost me more than about $400 bucks in the early 2000's. Same model Gibson on reverb now some guy asking 2200 bucks or make offer. I guess I missed the boat!

Now I'm thinking maybe it wasn't Chinese, but Indonesian and the darker one Korean...Alas, I don't have any back of headstock photo's anymore to check.
I think those came with Duncan Designed humbuckers, but I also quickly swapped them out for 2x cream Super Distortions (Dual Sounds), with coil-split push-pull pots. I had a look in mind, like the 80's Ibanez Rocket Roll V's that I was really lusting for... ;-)

I dont understand why V builders dont use that strip of ridged rubber like Gibson/Epiphone did/does.

Last I seen it was on an Epiphone Amos ,a cheaper Epi V and the $$$10 grand Gibson Korina reissue.

Random thoughts about Vshapes and men

Men play with Vs; guitars and vaginas

Men stand up to pee, and should when playing guitar. "Men" that sit down to play often sing with their soft (effeminate) voice.

Pointy guitars double as weapons for unruly fans and wives that ask you to turn down your amp...not girlfriends; you already should have trained that bitch or culled her out

Vs are all access 'no horns in the way' shredding guitars, so even though you play on the first 7 frets with the low 3 strings, you can tell everyone how easy it is to reach those rock solo strings.

V-style guitars are primarily what I play. I still use a shoulder strap when seated. I sit on the edge of the couch/ottoman/chair, and let the guitar hang as I normally would. I'm sure some of it depends on how high or low you wear it, but for me I can play seated almost as well as standing.

Very cool looking V, congrats!

The way I play sitting with any guitar is to use a strap. I don't bother trying to rest it on my leg. I let it hang just as if I were standing, and adjust the strap where the guitar is situated in the most comfortable position. When sitting I also use a barstool or drum throne so it has me in a semi-standing position to begin with.

If you're used to a Les Paul, be aware that the same 2 humbucker config in a Flying V will sound slightly thinner usually than in a Les Paul.

If the goal is to get a similar tone from the V, be sure to look for more bassy/big sounding pickups.
On my 2010 Gibson V ('67 RI with ebony board) I've replaced the complete pickguard + pickups and electronics.
Dimarzio Super Distortion bridge (pretty good choice, considering other options...) and Dimarzio Breed Neck (effin' awesome in this guitar! Sounds huge, but still open and clear.)
I love the Breeds - DiMarzio never should've discontinued those.

Also considering grabbing a used V.... leaning now towards a Gibson '67 reissue. Bouncing back and forth from either an R8 or nice V... already have an R0 I dig, so may just give the V a go. Or go all in and get a Banker '58 Korina V :)
