Ugh, I have no idea how to dial in pedals. I just want a cool 80s hair sounding delay and this thing has so many knobs and features I have no clue what I'm doing. There should be a gear school somewhere that teaches you how to dial in amps, run effects, set up rack gear, tweak pedals, etc.

Just get a Boss DD6 or whatever and a Boss Chorus and an EQ. Simplfy everything man

I probably should. There was a local guy selling this a few months ago and I think I got a pretty decent deal on it. If I knew what type of delay I wanted, what types of settings on the knob made it sound like what I wanted and if I knew how many ms of delay I wanted I'm sure I could get some use out of it lol

Do you want a simple delay sound? Just try something around 400-500 ms for soloing.

This is exactly how i felt when i got chorus and delay pedals. Embarrassingly, 5 years after buying the things, i just turned one knob at a time down and up while playing, and it was very easy to tell what i wanted. Basically, all the names of the knobs made sense. Regen was how many times it came back, modulation made it sound like something was wrong with my amp. Delay controls the amount of time between repeats. Mix is how much dry comes through the signal.

I, too, wondered why controls existed, howerver, my controls are very minimal and had someone else set them up, it would have likely been insane. With these subtle settings, i got a ton of compliments on my cleans (volume rolled back).

Then get a Lexicon PCM81...
It is so deep that the DD20 will seem like a 2 knob pedal...

Why fight it...?

This is the problem with 90 percent of the stuff out there . You spend so much time trying to dial in one sound you like out of 10 million choices. Go with butt simple chorus and delay pedals . They will get you there.

I keep it simple with a DD-3T and DM-2W.
Sounds fucking great!
And simple. The less knobs the better for me...
