Those two amps would sound great together! Also, look into the Musicomlab MKIII to run both amps' channels/functions and make programmable patches for all of your pedals. This is what I hope to do someday when I get the cash together.

I am going to look into the Musicomlab MKIII as an option. I have a loop master strip, but with two amps and all the pedal options I would be tap dancing all freaking night. Every time I try to simplify I seem to complicate. Still this is a lot less than the whole W/D/W system I had last year.

What other alternatives or recommendations do you guys have to research along with the Musicomlab MKIII?

For those of you that have used or totally understand the Musicomlab MKIII, can you answer the following, as I may be able to bypass the PI-01 from LASD.

Does the Musicomlab MKIII's OUT A/OUTB each go to a seperate amp and are they isolated?

Is the buffer good, musical in regards to buffers? Dave Phillips states his at LASD is one of the best.

It looks like this unit would replace my loop master 6 loop looper, give me MIDI, a buffer (optional to use), isolated outs to each amp and more.... Thoughts? Details from those who have used?

Forget the questions above after downloading the manual and researching I will not need the PI-01 for almost $300 and for a little bit more cashola this thing is the TITS....

Before you fork out the $750 for the Korean made box, check out the G-Labs GS3. Pretty much the same pedal, a little bigger footprint. Amp control, midi pedal control, rack control. It is buried deep in the classifieds if you want to try it out. Have 6 built in 9VDC taps and is an easy set up. 4 loops, assignable buffers, inserts, etc. Let me know if you want to try it out. I don't need it.

Thanks Steve, I am going to get the LASD PI-01 in the near future once I get the board together, a very small board btw, and try to stay running through the front of amp. I may end up using the Twin Jet FX Loop If I can figure it out. I can get good volume control of the FX loop bypassed/active at practice and gig levels, but if you mess with the front at all or go lower volume all goes to hell quickly for me.

I am going to pass on the Shiva at this time. I really want one, and it will be my next amp purchase. The TJ is doing everything I need at the moment, the Shiva would be a guilty pleasure right now, and I really have to keep myself at bay and remember why I downsized in the first place and not go through the process of ramping up again at this time.

Everybody in my house has had the flu or a flu type virus this weekend, so the first time in 6 months I have not picked up my guitar to at least do exercises or noodle around, been 2 days going to go play a bit here shortly.....

Bumping for a similar question - would the Shiva be a great compliment to the Quick Rod or would it be too similar?

I've never personally played one or even heard one in person for that matter, but I've been gassing for one lately based on clips and now one has shown up used in a local store, looks like a 2005 model, not sure what type tubes it's sporting at the moment. I know it won't do overly heavy, lead/shreddy type gain, but I have that area covered with the Splawn. What I "hope" it would do is more of a vintagey, classic crunch with some organic character and of course some sweet cleans. Not saying the QR can't gimmie some pre 80's vibe, but I'm curious if the Shiva and QR would play well together in mixes and what not. The JVM was a poor choice on my part for that, just not enough of something for me...

I am told the 20th Shiva is the way to go. It has more gain on tap compared with the regular Shiva with the extra boost switches and some other features.

20th Shiva with EL34's would do that...classic crunch with a warmer, more organic tone...great cleans and could get modern with the mode switch.

6550's.....not 34's. Change out a couple of the Chinese pre's to something like Tung Sol or an LPS. The 20Shiva will then make you want to slap yo mama.....

You can run the channel gain, channel master and global master around noon and rock out with your cock out...

Dayuuumm!! Slaying Mamas and running around with your cock out. Call it The Rooster Booster!!!

The Rooster Booster: A Shrinkage-Fighting Wonderbra For Your Boys
I know, I know. That picture is like looking into the sun. But this swimwear serves a very important function—it enhances a man's package to combat the dreaded shrinkage effect.

Each pair of Rooster Booster swim trunks features a pocket and foam padding to "lift and separate" (so to speak). That means fat and hairy beachgoers no longer have to worry about shrinkage after a dip in the pool or ocean. Although, if they had any shame in the first place they would shave their back, put on a shirt and a pair of decent shorts. The Rooster Booster will be available soon from the aptly and hilariously titled Mr. BusyBalls.

Okay for the sake of just staying away from racks and W/D/W systems and have a flexible system that is fun to play and not to bad to gig with will the following work?, Any recommendations?

For starters the two amps as stated would be the Twin Jet and the Shiva.

Starting with a LASD PI-01 which has a great buffer and allows to go out to two amps after coming back in from the pedalboard, it will even allow stereo in and out to each amp L/R to do stereo with two amps if one desires.

Second the pedalboard I am working on with Wah, Volume, my Kanji Eternity, Boss Phase, POG, Vibe, El Capistan, Blue Sky Reverb and Lovepedal Tremolo.

The majority of the pedalboard would be run in front of both amps coming out of the PI-01 to the two amps inputs, with an A/B/Y switcher to give an option to use either amp or both at same time. The PI-01 promises to keep phase issues under control as well as it is fully isolated for hum, etc..

Question is do I want to run the reverb/delay in front of both amps in stereo, or just do mono in the Shiva FX loop and use the Shiva for clean and to mix with the TJ for solos using the Shiva in this context as the Wet side of my system without having to have a rack/poweramp/etc to keep up for a W/D/W system.

I think this concept sounds cool, and the only addition I am looking at is the Shiva. Anybody see problems with this setup, suggestions, etc....

I just got my LASD interface. If I get time today, I will fire up the TJ and Shiva through it. I am wondering how it automatically handles phase issues though. Other than that, the little box looks killer. Anxious to check out the different buffers on it. I talked to them the other day and will get them to build me some other custom stuff like a rack interface. I like the hell out of their gear. I gave Bradshaw a deposit about two years ago on one, he is about as dependable as someone else I know....
