I finally had time to demo three tone nerd pickups in the same guitar. Really digging this Roxy. Do you guys know what magnetic is in the whiskey pickup? My card inside is kinda faded. Is it a c8?

Scott with chime in.

But off hand, I believe the Whiskey bridge is A5 and the neck version is A4 or A3.

The Whiskey's are my favorite set that Scott made.

GREAT PICKUPS !!! (y)

No it is an A5. It also has "rc" on the card highlighted but not sure what that means.

I bought it straight from Scott. It’s marked csthick but,it’s the same height as my a5 pickups.

Here is my card. I'm sure while Scott was coming up with new designs, he probably was updating the cards.

I have Whiskeys in the Chubtone I picked up from here. Like them quite a bit. The JB is my most used pickup for reference.

It’s definitely a nice pickup. Seems pretty tight is why I’m asking about the magnet.
I ultimately decided on using the Roxy in my guitar. I also tried the sunset strip.

I was originally going to get a Sunset Strip and had the chance to try a Roxy and Scott recommended a Whiskey for my Les Paul.

Man I met Scott at the Dallas Guitar Show before he moved. I was hoping to get to try some of his stuff but alas…

How similar are the Whiskeys to an SD Custom or Custom 5? Currently have a PG and Custom in my Les Paul but I'm interested in the Whiskey, just not sure if it would be worth the switch or largely the same

Scott's stopped winding.

With all of his pickups, it's 100% worth it.... IF you can find a used one somewhere

The whiskey's you'll have to ask someone else, I think the custom 5 is most similar to the Roxy, although the Roxy is tighter, more complex, and more raw

I still love the custom 5, and have it in a couple guitars, but the Roxy is on another level

IIRC the whiskey is a fair bit lower output (both in resistance and percieved output) than either the roxy or a custom 5

Roxy is amazing. I have 4 or 5 of them. I have a couple Sunset Strips, a Wicked 8, a Whiskey and a 1984 as well. All great.

Roxy is around 17k. I believe the Whiskey is 14-15k. I have the Whiskey in my Charvel and it’s perfect.

I had a Psykes but it was a little fat for me.

Ah man that's too bad I hadn't known he'd stopped! I guess if I were to buy new then the best upgrade now would be Crossroads & Godwood or maybe Darkburst & Iron Man. Scott's prices were so unbeatable though, wish I wasn't so late to the game

You and me both, man. I passed a bunch of them out to friends to "try" and now I can't get any of them back, LOL.

I still have a psykes and a couple of roxy's, though. They're that good, and they are literally never leaving the guitars they're in.

With Tonenerd off the table, Wagner is definitely the recommendation I would throw out there. I 10005% agree that Wagner is the best upgrade available.

Godwood/Crossroads if you want to be able to clean up, more "hot PAF", and Ironman/darkburst if you want the full ceramic no-courtesy-spit business in the bridge.
