This is the best the guitar has sounded so far.

ToneNerd Whiskey 6800 in the bridge and a Duncan 59 in the neck. I had a Motor City BB2 in it before but it was too dark for my tastes, and the single coil wasn't to my liking either. Sounds great with a fair amount of gain, and I've found that dropping the gain about 10 to 15 percent brings out the tone even more. A boost from a pedal really makes it sing. Probably the way a JB should sound, only better.

Scott, thanks for bringing some great tone out of this thing. And always thanks to Matt and Curt (and Jose, who had to match the paint!) at Chubtone.

Haha, glad to hear. I haven't sold many of these yet, with it being my newest and if I don't hear feedback, I'm always second guessing myself. I try not to solicit feedback, so it's great when I get it. It ironic that it's in your lavender guitar since it was the inspiration of my lavender'ish sparkle and that the same spec that I've kept in mine

Thanks 🙏

That's a gorgeous guitar. Killer color.

@scottosan So did you decide on 6800 turns as the final recipe? And is this most like a fatter/looser Roxy?

I settled on 7000, but offer both. The 6700 is just a tad less compressed. And yes it's a warmer looser feel compared to the Roxy, but that's relative since it's not la loose pickup.

I have a Chubtone Explorer with tonenerd pickups. Im hoping to get another set for a superstrat very soon

I like the less-compressed part. Great tone with the gain dialed back.

Now out on the Nebraska prairie!

Heliotrope!!

I may need to get one of these for my Chubtone German guitar. The JB is "ok" but this guitar probably deserves a better pickup and something homegrown.

Hey Scott what colors can you do that pickup in? Would be cool in red!
You already know I love this one....
