Every time I hear this record, I'm impressed by that tone.

But if you wanna go for the classics, I mean... hard to top this:

I also just discovered this band, and I'm loving this HM-2 tone:

Damn Yankees - Coming of Age

David Lee Roth (Vai) - Hina

Def Leppard - Animal

Disturbed - Stupify

Dokken - Without Warning

Eric Clapton - Layla

Fleetwood Mac - You Make Loving Fun

Foghat - Slow Ride

Foo Fighters - Everlong

Foreigner - Jukebox Hero

How about Gatemouth? Good old Firebird into what looks like a Twin:

I'm sure most none of y'all would agree, but the the live tones from Robin Finck's setup in the early 00's NIN tours were the most awesome I remember to this day. I dunno, maybe I'm just romanticizing, but that made my hair stand on end at every show. Filter's bass tone at the Zombie/Cooper tour last year was pretty sweet, too. Had some awesome grind to go with the punch. Stands out to me from recent memory. Rammstein has always been a fav of mine. Especially live.

Always thought this guy had some killer clean tone with his strat and some Peavey, not sure what the model is but it sounds great.

Also - plenty of great moments in this. I’ve always really enjoyed the riffing that starts around 8:35 and then how it all builds / self-destructs from 12:40 onwards…

Chevelle - NIRATIUS
Lamb Of God - Omens
Metallica - black album, master of puppets

That's all I can think of right now. Omens really surprised me, I think it's gotta great tone to it. I think it was recorded mostly with a Badlander??
