LIKE 20 years now! No need for midi, it's awesome. For all you guys who want to program drums, without programming drums check it out.

Yeah, I got it the day it came out. Very cool piece of software!

i just bought SSD 4 platinum and im loving it so far, i was wondering what the difference in the two were?

I have EZD, SD2 and JamStix 3. Going to probably buy EZD2 later today because I like the song structure type of functionality. That said, JamStix is and has been way ahead of the pack for making it easy for non-drummers to build beats. They just ported to Mac so I'm waiting for the bugs to get worked out.

I do perfer the look and feel of the ToonTrack stuff though. I'm just afraid that if I pony up the $90 to upgrade to EZD2, that they'll come out with the same functionality in SD3. Toontrack samples sound better than the JamStix samples too but JamStix let's you host any other drum software so you can use the JS functions but the Toontrack sounds. Very cool.

It's awesome but it doesn't trump superior/metal foundry. It's easier and comparable but I will hold out for the next edition of superior.

I STRONGLY advise that all of you download, pirate or buy all the midi packs like library of the extreme, monster midi, and pretty much all the midi listed on toontracks site. Really awesome stuff, so many options and those libraries would make EZD2 much more impressive.

I haven't used SSD but the toontrack stuff is really based around ease of use and minimal midi programming. This ezdrummer version is even easier than the previous since everything is done graphically.

I have superior drummer 2.3 and ez drummer 1.0. You can make use of the extended libraries in ez drummer2. I was using metal foundry and metalheads kits.

I can say I always stayed away from these types of things because I didn't have patience for them but I love this thing.
It's as it should be.

I whip out quick demos for the band and I HATED trying to get drums on them. This makes it easy to move through ideas quickly.

Yeah this version is way easier than 1.0 and superior drummer. You can take an existing midi and graphically edit the beat. Like you said, it's as it should be.

Yep...it kicks serious ass. I'm about to get back to writing some tunes. EZ2's workflow gets me all giddy. :D

Yeah that's what I always wanted... Seamless songwriting without all the midi programming bullshit which just bogs everything down.

I want one of those Japanese Android robots and have it programmed to drum

just give it a pair of sticks and tell it to start playing rush tunes

Yeah, and if you need a guitar and rig to record with, just head down to the local music store for a smash 'n' grab. It's not stealing if everyone else is doing it. Right?

Oh relax.. most of us buy stuff and the odd time we might try some pirated software to see if we even like the product beyond the 30 day trial period. When they price software reasonably it sells..

Thanks for the heads up Vlad, I'll look into it.
I usually use drum loops with Sony ACID. It sounds good as it's a real drummer, but it can be very time consuming coming up with a good drum track for an entire song.
Would love to find something that speeds up the writing process.

I'll make a clip. Adam, you'd love this thing. It sounds real.
