Top 5 best Recorded Tones - Songs or Albums.

I'll go:

Pink Floyd - geez, hard to pick but let's say Wish You Were Here (mostly for Shine on You Crazy Diamond and Have a Cigar) Of course, Dark Side, Animals and the Wall also have epic tones.

Metallica: Master of Puppets - their peak IMO and the guitars sound amazing.

COC: Deliverance - I just love everything about this album. Raw and dirty guitar tones, killer blending of metal and southern rock.

Gotta pick a Sabbath album so I'll say Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Tripped out and murky but it sounds so good.

Jeff Beck: Blow By Blow - So crazy, Beck was the man.

I'm going to add one more and say Clutch: Blast Tyrant. Killer album and they are so good live.

Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Sepultura - Chaos AD
The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Led Zeppelin - III

Honorable mention I agree with @PhoneyIommi that Clutch - Blast Tyrant deserves mentioning, as do Robot Hive/Exodus, and Earth Rocker. I would toss Monster Magnet - Monolithic Baby and Power Trip, as well as Orange Goblin --Time Traveling Blues, Thieving From the House of God, and A Eulogy for the Damned on that level as well. Such a huge sounding albums. Ohhhh, and Mastodon on Leviathan and Crack the Skye. Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger and Superunknown.
