Mostly 100W amps here, but if the Landry LS50G3 counts as high gain it gets my vote. Great rock amp, and super fun to play.

So you haven’t had a 50 watt Wizard I assume?
Nope...100w all the way. Had the 25w MCII and while the tone was glorious, it's no match for the 100. Can't imagine bothering with the 50w Wizard.

Ares had some seriously aggressive mids. Very pissed off sounding amp with a cool gain structure.

Seriously. 50W are barely any quieter than a 100W amp but usually lack the fullness and headroom.

I'd love more in-the-room audio like the last few seconds of that video. That sounds much better to me than the previous few minutes of whatever that was... Mic? Direct box? Line out? Not sure.

I couldn't tell the difference at volume between 50w or 100w on my Quick Rod so I just decided to save on tubes

My 50 watt Monomyth black sun/blood marshall is the only 50 watt that gives me the feel and power of a 100 watter ( IMO ) I've owned a few 50 watters and they all left my collection within days except that Monomyth. That thing is staying forever.
