Hello folks! I'am new on this forum!
I need some clarifications about the torpedo captor 8!
I bought it 'cause I would like to play my evh 5150 50w using the attenuator!
But I did a mistake 😅 I didn't realise that my cabinet have the 16 ohm impedence!
So I don't know if I can connect my amp out 8 ohm to the torpedo 8 and run it to the cab, or I have to send it back and buy the 16 ohm variation! I don't want to damage my amp or torpedo, so I thought maybe so mine can help me with this!
Another question is:for record my amp using two notes wall sound should I connect my amp to the torpedo and to my audio interface using the out xlr in front with the selector guitar/bass switched to Off, so I can use the attenuator and make tubes warme or I have to use the Line out balanced?! Sorry for the questions but I tried to search info on the Web but I didn't find nothing about! Thank you to everyone 😊

You can use 8Ohm output from your head to captor 8. Then you can connect 16Ohm cab to the ATTENUATED output without worries. I believe, you can also use Through output, but then you have to use 16Ohm output from the head.

For recourding you can use line out jack, or XLR with Off switch, to be able to use WoS cabs.

Thank you so much!
I don't want to break somenthing, the captor is new so I asked cause, i also can send it back to the store and buy the 16.
But as you know, most of the cab speaker have 8 ohm in. So I don't know what I have to do 😅

Get the 16ohm to match your cabinet. If you're going to use the attenuator

@DC5150 Cab impedance is kind of hidden behind the attenuator's resistors, so using 4-16 Ohm cab on 8 Ohm Captor is completely ok. I would say, 8 Ohm loader is the best choice for attenuating miscellaneous cabs.

Thank you all! I choose to send it back and I bought a torpedo captor x 16 on sale 😉!
