Torpedo Reload II - NEW

Technically you should be able to as it can reamp so you'd be sending signal back through it... now that said, that would be an awesome feature for Two Notes to include some sort of onboard way of doing this. They have their capture software that you can run on your PC though. ( at least I think it's still out there in the wild)
Ha! Well that was our original Reload but we have plenty more in store for the future so stay tuned for updates on new additions to our portfolio!

Can we ask that when you do a proper demo of this thing, you show us the amp with no Reload connected vs the Reload II in line and attenuating so we can hear the difference if any? Would be great to volume match it as well so we can see what if any affect there is on the tone.

Also for the load portion, a mic'd cab vs an impulse response of that very mic position on the cab to see how faithful it is.

Thanks for taking the time to chyme in here btw. Much appreciated! I am a first generation Reload user but have never gone below half way attenuating as I feel there is a significant tone/response change.
It is a good suggestion but instead of us creating this, we actually wanted our network of influencers to test this - we feel a 3rd party actioning this is far more impartial than the brand doing this. My suggestion: stay tuned in the coming weeks as our first round of stock hits our influencer network!

Call me old-fashioned but man this phrase is hard to swallow.

So: this thing itself does not have any cab sims?

That seems like a strange choice.
Not sure on this. I will say after reading up on this box it looks like a well-thought out, potentially very useful product. I think keeping it all-analogue makes sense, considering that its primary purpose seems to be Power Station type reamping.

It's a little cheeky calling it "true continuous attenuation" when you're really just turning the volume of the solid-state power section up or down. But I think most people understand the marketing folks need to come up with something cool sounding to justify their role.

If you want a cab sim for live use, Two Notes and others have that covered - and for recording an IR in the DAW is typically the preferred approach.

I'm glad they took notice of what people in the past have said about the impedance curve - this is a good move and shows they're listening. But I cannot, and will not support that high kick.

Only one man alive has earned the right to kick and that legend is no other than YJM. Kickin' and throwing out thousands of guitar picks a show is his go to signature move(s) Some picks don't even live long enough to grace the strings, they just go right out to the legions of screaming fans.

There are some differentials here and you will of course see certain features on other manufacturers products; our plan with Reload II was to create a successor to it' predecessor, incorporating all of the feedback we have received while the original Reload was in the market for the past 10 years. In terms of key features we wanted to add to this:
  • Reworked - from the group up - and externally validated load design
  • Twin channel operation for Dual Mono and Stereo use
  • Line inputs for Modellers, Fly-rigs, Preamps, Amp Sims etc
  • A very comprehensive FX loop catering for pretty much any scenario
  • Dual, independent cab outputs
  • A Super transparent power amplifier to help retain the core tone and character of the connected amplifier
  • Versatility in terms of a top box configuration and rack mounting
When shooting the content for this, I have the opportunity to extensively test this with my amps and those in the studio that we were shooting in and the results were killer - I am pretty picky about my amp tones, especially for studio work, and this will 100% be a mainstay in my rig. I know, I would say this and I would definitely urge anyone here to demo one of these when they hit the market - I am super confident you will not be disappointed!
No offense but it doesn’t look like this does anything that other boxes already have covered. By April—your projected release date—there might be a TAE II that adds modulation to the mix.

Thanks for weighing in. No, you are correct, there is no Analog or digital cab sims on the device as it is primarily an attenuator / amplifier - we were however conscious that studio users would be using Reload II and that is why we supplied a complementary copy of GENOME as well as a collection of 24 DynIRs. If you have any other questions, let me know - I am happy to dive in!

Thanks for weighing in and glad you have dived into the product a little more. The phrase True Continuous Attenuation was actually something we had used previously with our orginal Reload and we feel it is the best way of describing what Reload II does in a nutshell - our main priority was to implement a transparent SS amp in order that there is no colouration of the amp's tone and such seemed a fitting description. As you have noted, the Impedance curve was a huge undertaking on our side and required a group-up rework of our load and an immense amount of testing. Whether you see any validity in my personal thoughts or not, I thought I would say them regardless: having used most loadboxes on the market, for me and my use, Reload II complements my amps to perfection and I am sure others will find the same!

Ah c'mon, If I could high kick like that (and I am sure you will see why I absolutely cant when we release our feature overview video featuring yours truly), I'd be doing it all the time!

I mean his mom says he’s handsome, for whatever that’s worth but yeah… kinda?

He also goes to second base on the first date…

You're talking about me right? Who have you been talking to? :)

Thanks for getting back to me. There are definitely some differentials and we feel Reload II offers a more comprehensive solution for those features that it includes - but we guess proof will be in the pudding and what our early adopters feed back!
