I luv mine. I replaced 1 of the CL80 speakers with a G12T75. The cabinet is built really well but there are alot of screws to remove to change a speaker. The casters are the upgraded ones and roll smooth over any surface. I planing on buying another one and a 4x12 and maybe a 1x12 or 2 :D aoeric (Eric) on here was selling of his other cabs because he liked these so much. Im sure he will chime in soon. :2thumbsup:
The G12t75 sounds bad ass in the mix :D once these break in they sound even better!!!!

Yep and I have another pair of them waiting to go in a pair of 2x12 :D

I've been VERY happy with my Tourmaster series cabs. The 4x12 I have is one of the best 4x12's I've owned to date. Mind you, I HAD to replace the V30s, as I just can't stand V30s. I have a set of G12T75s / CL80s in there and I'm pretty damn happy. I'm thinking of trying out a set of Scumback H75 / M75 65-watters though, and moving my TM 212 back to the G12T75 / CL80 tone I initially was using with it. But, who knows!!! I haven't made a full decision on that yet.

The build quality of the TM212's are REALLY good. I would recommend to anyone to change out one of the CL80s for a G12T75 and everyone that I have told to try that, let listen to mine has LOVED the change. Those two speakers really do compliment each other honestly.

I can't say enough about the Avatar Vintage 2x12 I have. It's loaded with Greenbacks for me, but thats because I prefer low to medium gain with a little high gain in there every once in a while. They sound great with V30's too.

The other guitarist in my band has the tourmaster 2x12 though and that thing sounds just as good.

Either way I think I'll be using an oversize 2x12 for a long time.

I've been building cabinets and buying mid-grade and high-grade Birch by the truck load for many years. One thing is the TM's are NOT a true Russian, Baltic, or any other form of high-grade birch, where EVERY one of the 13 layers is actual Birch. The so-called 'Birch plywood' used on the TM's is similar to the Home Depot grade birch plywood where the outer layers are a Birch veneer, but the inner plys are actually Poplar. It's technically sold as 'Birch plywood' because cabinet (not speaker cabinet) builders don't care about the inner plys, they only need the face to look nice.

Don't get me wrong, this does NOT mean the TM's are inferior - Just the opposite in my opinion. Actual Russian or Baltic birch will have a more dead sound. Most of the time way too dead like concrete blocks with speakers. You could make the argument that the better birch is stronger, but I've never seen any rip or separation tests to prove anything.

It is my opinion that Egnater has hit a great happy medium with resonance, tone, durability, and portability with the TM cabinets. As I said in another recent forum, my next purchase will be a pair of TM 212's, or a pair of Vox 212's, both which are incredible cabinets for the money.

jlbaxe,

You mentioned upgraded casters? Do you have to ask for those at G Center???

Eric, rather than spend even more money on the Scumbacks, I might just replace a CL80 with a G12t75 and be done!

came with them. they arent the ones that have a post and pop in the bottom of the cab foot. theses casters are a stronger slide on style. And no i didnt ask for them, believe they are standard. :D

Yea, same here. Until get some cash, I'll leave the CL80 in there and pair it up with a vintage G-1265 or one my favorites, the Eminence GB12.

Not trying to make waves, but what about a Splawn 212 cabinet or Stone Age cabinet? They seem beefier and I would still like to hear the Bogner next to the TM. The Splawn unloaded cab is inexpensive too.

Eric,

My only issue with the Celestion G12T75 (used in many Marshall cabinets) is that the mids can be scooped and the highs can be too edgy and not as smooth. I never liked many Marshall cabs for this reason.

That's why I mix them with a CL80. They mix VERY well together. Don't knock it until you try it! :)

Like Chocolate and Peanut butter.
Does the CL80 have the mids to make up for the G12T75?

I personally like the G12T75 by itself, but adding the CL80 does provide a bit more low - midrange mids. So yes :)

This is not entirely true. Our head cabinets and the Rebel 112x cabinets are not the solid core Birch. However the Tourmaster 4212 combo, TM 4x12 A & B cabinets, and the TM 212x cabinets are all solid core Birch. Just an FYI for everyone.

Ok, I guess I shouldn't have said the TM's, meaning the entire TM line. I only own the 112x, so that's all I've had a chance to inspect. I just assumed. Sorry about that!

But anyway, what you've said is great - The bigger cabinets are the true birch. Very cool!

Klark, what made you think they were 'Birch plywood'? Does this now mean they are not as resonant? :)

I want one!

aeroic, when you are up in the QC for a gig, I am going to have to try your cab.
sharp is one thing i DON"T want in my speakers with my E-Violin...
