One very important note that the courts highlighted recently.
Executive privilege can be granted for acts associated with a president carrying out their governing duties.
It can not be used by a president to cover any of their campaign dealings.

The rally on January 6th was not a government event. It had nothing to do with actions relating to presidential
actions or duties. It was a campaign rally after the fact of the election.
