Might need facebook, hold on I'll upload to YouTube give me a min

yes I see, thanks for that video :)

The thing is when recording with the palmer into the DAW, there's where I hear the distortion.

What Peter said makes sense and I tried it and it was ok, but I believe because I am not using a cab maybe is the signal that is too hot, I don't really know, I have to try more.

I saw the mic in that Bogner cab, what do you use to record?

I record with a m track plus. It's just to get ideas down. The band is doing a pro recording at a studio but it's at a stall at the moment because a band member has a personal issue that has him unable to complete till the end of next month. I wouldn't know anything about the palmer but I hear the two notes stuff is killer for what it's worth.

How loud is your master? Maybe you're getting power tube distortion?

The fact that you are not using a cab has nothing to do with any clipping/ distortion you might get unless you are not using the equipment (Palmer in this case) properly. This sounds to me like you are connecting the Palmer improperly to your daw: causing a ground issue with your sound card or plugging an unbalanced to balanced / vice versa.

Can you post a clip? That would help to understand what's wrong if something is wrong.

Btw this is the post 66666 of the forum

Damn it was almost mine

Well, the master is at 10h 11h and I am using the unfiltered outs of the palmer so I can add the cab after in the Torpedo WOSIII, the unfilter volume is between 2 and 3

The interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4

You should have enough headroom to be clean at that volume, unless you had some stupid soft tubes.

Really 9-10 o'clock is more then enough with a real cab honestly

the tubes are still the ones that came with, it's a late 2013 VH4, so I don't believe the problem would rely there, also I am using no real cab so I have to go around that.

What Peter said worked, rolling the volume off a bit, also I've been doing cleans with single coils and it's fine so far.

In the future I will try to get a good preamp for recording like a Chandler Limited or an API and maybe change my interface too, but for now I am in the Hunt for an Eventide Eclipse
