Ja man. Heard that a lot on vacation in Jamaica. Thanks,

That sounds ratty as fuck. I can't remember if we already talked about this but did you take a Rev D and Pre 500 mod to Rev C?

Man, I did that with my Dual Rev G and fricken love it. No boost needed. I have not used boost pedals in weeks

I'd love to hear yours without a boost.

Speaking of low volume recordings this is the one I did at TV volume roughly. @DanTravis62 don't click as I have a clip on tuner and using a cell phone

Cool :)
Thanks. No, i don't think we talked about that. No, i didn't.
I sold the Rev D a few years ago. I kept the Rev F but i sold that later too. 🤷‍♀️

My Dad, who is damn near deaf from all of the crazy loud concerts he's been to over the years seeing all of "The Greats" stated how shocked he was at how killer my guitar tones are at reasonable volumes. I will even dial it in to "the baby is sleeping in the other room" levels and get a beautiful sound still. I have other amps that are NOT like this and have to be pushed a bit to open up at all. In the case of my small Marshall, it has to be absolutely cranked to get THAT sound but since it is low wattage, it is still a reasonable volume. Louder does not always equal better. Great info and analyses through this thread.

I was reading the title wrong then. You had Rev D that was in the pre 500's as far as serial #. Got it. Thanks,

Ja man!

No way I can get great distortion tones from my Quick Rod without volume. :(

That's the input Level. Side-Note: With digital stuff you don't have to go so high.
My question was about the mic-pre amplification. See second 0:42 of my clip. That's the input Fader set to -50db for a (to be specific) SM57.
Hmm.. If I'm using one mic I just plug it straight into the interface. If I'm blending mics then I run them through my mixing console & blend to taste with the faders. -50 on my board would be ultra quiet.

There are a hundred ways to combine amp volume, fader level, input level, etc.. to get to any given output level. I haven't taken the time to really A/B all the possibilities.

Yes. At -50db MIC GAIN the source aka the Miked Cab is ultra quiet. I just meant the Mic Gain. ;) Had to check on my Interface GUI what it's called in English :D

I used to record at low volumes exclusively for a few years after my kid was born, and living in an apartment. Worked better than anything direct for me, as well.
Hey Man, i watched a lot of your Clips :)

When you say that do that mean direct out of amp or direct with a mic?

My low volume direct mic tone sucks but it could be mic placement. Have not tried in awhile. Can't say I'm familiar with your clips so post em if you got em

Always mics. I had a Weber Mass back in those days, but I was never happy with the DI sounds. Here is one I did with little man hanging out in the same room. This was 11-12 years ago, I guess.

Clips would be under NinjaRaf on most forums. For whatever reason RT is the only one that's different lol.
