I got the last pair of Svets from Doug. They were nicely matched, less than 2 mV.

Please don't rub it in   :2thumbsup:

Tried them. Great tube. Bright for a EL34. but still has the midrange sweetness. If you like and must have EL34 style overdrive, but wish the clean sounds were a little better, this is the tube for you.

My meter is fine. I tried swapping spots too and even tried switching between pairs but can't get any closer than 8 mv. Not a big deal but only have this problem with the 6550's.
I ordered these sets from Dougs and the tubestore and they are holding great.I just ordered a set from BOI audio and well see hows these are. What brand did you get?

I got mine from the Tube Store. Svetlana.

I checked them again yesterday after the amp had been running for a couple hours and the tubes wer 9 mv apart. I don't think it's degrading the sound any but I just have some concern about tube life.

Yeah I hear ya man. I've been using them for a long time, and typically mine clock in around 4-6 apart, and I've had one set of 6550s go out on me in about 7 years. But they needed to be replaced anyways!

I felt the same about it. Disorted, they are awesome! The SL and SL2 sound great through it! My DLX was a bit fizzy with them. It was cool, but I couldn't get a "clean tone" with them w/ my DLX. They do sound great w/ the Weber Speakers :).

I got a pair from there recently too...they were 9mV apart at first but after a few hours running and firing up/down, they settled down to be pretty evenly matched (2 to 4 mV apart)...dunno if there'll be a longevity issue though.

I've had this issue with couple of pairs from the tubestore..I figure if they're within 10% it's all good.

Yea Eric, I could see that with a Deluxe, not quite there. I was using SL & Bman cleans and it was quite good although if one was truly way into super clean they would be more "servicable" than great. Of the EL34 type in general I felt they were the best at splitting the difference.

I am telling you guys it's Walmart pink erasers in V1-3 and Fazolli GBS ( Garlic bread stick) in the power section!
