I have a 100 watt Splawn Nitro and it’s been acting up. It started throwing out this high pitched squeal whenever I plug a guitar cable into it. I want to try swapping preamp tubes before I take it to a tech, but despite having a Friedman JJ Jr, EVH 5153, and a Marshall DSL40CR I’ve never had to do anything with tubes. So I’ve never bought any. Where do you get your tubes from? I live in the Atlanta GA area.

Try swapping V2. That's the input stage. Tube may have gone microphonic. If they're old tubes then it may not hurt to replace all pre amp tubes in V1, V2 and V3.
