Hmm interesting. So the twin Jet isn't really the original channel.
Did you find the rev 2 has a bigger low end even with TJ loaded with KT88's?

Believe it or not, yes! The JJ-loaded Rev 2 has a thud that even the TJ with KT88's can't really match. It's pretty massive, even at low volumes.

And no, the Rev 2's and TJ's second channel aren't quite the same. The TJ's is a bit brighter, somewhere between the Rev 2 and the Rev Blue. It's been nice to own all three revisions and do a comparison between them. I might make a thread with more detailed explanations later.

Also, the TJ's controls are a bit more... logical than the Rev 2's. The added master depth and presence controls are a definite plus as well.

Wow, wouldn't expect that.
Interesting what you'll think after changing the tubes.
Are the JJ EL34 or E34l?

This is so weird, maybe reinhold dialed out some of the low end because of the complaints on ubers not cutting in the mix.
Do you think you could try record them? even with an ipod cam or something, sometimes it reflects allot.

Still debating on my next tubes btw, currently thinking towards JJ KT77 VS 6CA7.

Yeah, I can record something for you. Pickup choice means a lot, do you want passive or active?

Okay, I'll see what I can do tomorrow. I tried recording one, but the low end was so massive that I just threw it out.

So I got my Twin Jet back from the local tech here in St. Louis after he put a toggle switch on the back of the chassis to switch between EL34's and KT88's. I can already tell the difference between the two. The Winged C EL34's sound a bit looser (a good thing for me, reminds me of my old Rev Blue) without any loss in clarity. The highs are less glassy and needle-like; they're smoother. There's a much fuller and richer midrange as well. All in all worth the money I spent on it, since I might end up going back to the KT88's again. It seems like a pretty easy mod, and one that a Twin Jet owner should consider (honestly I don't know why Bogner doesn't do these stock!).

EDIT: The only thing that went wrong is one of the retainers for the screws that holds the chassis to the shell popped out, so I can't screw in that corner. Any idea on how to pop it back in?

Is easy to do this mod on Twin Jet?
