So when did JJs become bottom of the barrel tubes? Everybody praises the Uberschalls as awesome amps with great feel and tone. Look in the back and guess what, you'll see JJs in there. JJs EL34 tubes are as good as anybody's.

Friedman uses JJ 34's in the Brown Eye amps. He said they sound the best with his design.

Agreed. My Ubers sounded better with JJ power tubes vs. Winged C's.

You just have to be careful with JJ power tubes nowadays. High failure rate. I have to do some extra tests on them before they can go out the door to make certain they are ok.

I had rev green Uber and gain pot worked same way. It's a good amp though, sold it on Monday and I'm already missing it

And about KT88 tubes, tbh I didn't like them, I like the "Marshall vibe" of EL34s.

I take it the EH in the EH6CA7 is Electro Harmonix? Who makes the EH tubes - I am pretty sure they're rebrands, yes?
