Uberschall settings/tubes thread

Just tried the Gold Lion KT77's in the Rev Blue. Wow, these are great tubes! They remind me a lot of the JJ E34L, but with more clarity like a Winged C EL34. Probably the best overall tubes I've had in there.

Right now I threw the E34L's back in. They suit my playing style a lot better than the JJ EL34's, since they loosen the amp up quite a bit and make it a lot more sensitive (I'm a light picker). The EL34's were way too tight and bassy for my taste.

Today was an interesting day with the Uberschall. Took it to the local GC to try out some cabs and a Tubescreamer. Ended up getting a TS9; this thing sounds AMAZING with the Uberschall. I also tried it for the first time with a 4x12 cabinet. Holy. Crap! I've been using it with a POS 2x12 cabinet since I've gotten it, and have never tried it with a 4x12. I can't believe the low end I've been missing! My 2x12 just isn't able to push enough air to compete. This thing is BRUTAL, so much moreso than I thought!

Surprisingly, the Peavey Valveking 4x12 sounded the best out of the Marshall, Line 6, and Mesa cabs I tried. It was especially surprising since I've owned the Peavey Valveking 212 and I thought the speakers were horrible. Not so anymore! I almost considered buying it, until I remembered that I'm poor and can't just buy such things on a whim (even though it was the cheapest cab of all that I tried, for once!). Definitely something to look at later... When I was playing through the Peavey cab, people were coming by to see what was so loud and so heavy. Needless to say, got a lot of compliments on the beast today!

I have a quick question. I'm having trouble with V10 biasing with the rest of the power section. It's reading a good 5 mA higher than the rest of the tubes, regardless of what tube I put in there. Any ideas?

Another question. What speaker cabinets are you guys using? I picked up a new Peavey Valveking cab for a pittance, which sounds surprisingly good given the price. Have you guys tried the Uberkab? Would you say it's worth saving up for?

Pair of Mesa Over-sized Recto cabs loaded with well worn in V30's.

I've had a few Ubers.....cabs and tubes make or break it with me. Got me wanting another Blue REv. I just sold a Twin Jet which sounded pretty good but SLO was more pleasing to me and can get just as heavy. Uber GAS is easy t get :)
