Uncovered vs. Covered Pickups... Am I crazy?

@sytharnia1560 That sounds killer to me! Yeah, I love Bill Steer's tone/playing/songwriting with both Carcass and Firebird. He's one of the guitarists that I can identify with most when it comes to my own musical tastes. Do you know the best site I can order an A8 from?

Also keep in mind no two pickups are wound the same, ever. Just like no two pieces of wood are the same. It's that whole vicious cycle of chasing tonal differences. Real, or in our minds?

I had same pickups both covered/uncovered versions, in the same guitar - didn't notice anything significant (or better said - nothing)
