Do you have a Herbert where you can adjust the bias from the top of the chassis?

If so, your screwdriver should have a tip of max. 3mm width - and should be long enough to be able to turn the trimmers.
You need to set the trimmers right to their middle position !

(just phoned with Peter, who is busy)

This is a newer Herbert with bias adjustments on top. I will take a look. Thanks again...

You see, we cannot imagine that there's something wrong. To be sure just stick one pair of the old tubes into two sockets and try to turn it to the middle position ;)

SUCCESS!!!!! It was indeed the bias adjustment. The flathead I was initially using was too small. This may have caused the initial problem....I need to find a narrow shaft screwdriver with wide enough blade...The only ones I had that would fit through the rubber grommet had a very narrow blade which I think caused the majority of my problems...I ended up turning the chassis over and moving the daughterboard for the loops oout of the way slightly so I could get to it from the back side. I really truly appreciate the help of both of you and am truly in awe of the amps and the guys that stand behind them...I am not sure I could have gotten this kind of assistance from another manufacturer. I am in your eternal debt. Now I need to find a VH4....On a side note, I hope you guys are successful in nailing down a US distributor soon...Maybe by NAMM????

Thanks,
Mark

+1000!!!!

If I weren't already blown away by the amps Diezel builds, I sure would be by the service they provide
You gus are top notch!

Peter and Olaf, thanks again for hanging with me on this. I will find a better tool to adjust bias.....

Recurring problem...Herbert just blew a 500mA fuse in the 2&5 position...Thiis occured when the amp had the low bias issue...Now it has blown the same fuse again...Please note that I have done absolutely nothing to the amp since biasing all pairs to appr 60mA....Any ideas what I might be dealing with hear...The filament was not just blown...the glass basically exploded in the fuse holder and I got a little tingle in the fingers while playing the guitar when the fuse blew....Any thoughts? Could it just be a bad tube or possibly something more?

Regards,
Mark

I'll be happy to ship you some Nitro capsules in the event that you begin to experience Herbert heart failure... ;)
