I had some led strips left over from another project, thought what the hell throw them into the EVH

That does look great. The other guitar player in the band I play did something similar inside his hollow body guitar and it is a very cool effect.

Cool. I did the same thing with mine a few months ago. The LED light thing works well with open grill amps.

whered you get your strips at? what did you tie into on the board??

Hey guys, I bought the LEDs off of ebay there are a ton of people selling them, I didn't tap the board at all for power, I'm using an external 12V power supply. I hope this helps

Guys. When I opened up the diamond amp I believe the tied into one of the preamp tubes.

Warning: Don't try this at home..

holy shit theres a bunch of amps out there w leds how do you hook em up?

I went with the external power supply because I wanted to have the ability to turn the lights on independent of the amp

I don't think you can just tap off of the power supply side of the amp. The power supply probably wasn't designed to accommodate it. Just get an external supply.

Edit: Oh yeah the amp looks awesome

i know on the peavey 5150 you can tie 2 dc12v in series into the -24 or +24 side of the preamp supply in relation to ground. i've also read you can tie right into the wall supply if you get the right AC supplied leds

im just wondering where or what kind you guys got. i'll figure it out and post back.

i was actually thinking of tying the lights into the amp with the clip plugs, that way, i can switch out whatever colors i want on whim.

trying to also figure out how i can get them to switch according to channel.
