I use external wall warts too.

I think trying to tie into the amps power would be a mistake and could also add unwanted noise.

They make multi-colored LED strips I think but I don't know how you'd get them to change color by changing channels.

I've got a clip and hook system that I made - I'll try to find a pic.

i guess it'd depend on if you tied into the DC current or the AC current.

now, im thinking just put one color in, tied in off the AC current from the wall. i will do some more digging and let you guys know what i find out.

yes, please do.

Here's some pics of the actual LED strip I used and the adapter, I hope this helps anyone looking to do this mod. P.S. sorry for the crappy pictures.

The LED strip has 30 individual LEDs, the length of the strip is just under 24 inches, the leads are 15 inches

This is where the leads go from the LED strip

leads from LED strip attached to the adapter, to tighten the leads it has 2 set screws

Plug the 12v power supply to the LED adapter

It is completely silent.

I had done something similar to hellaboogie. I just got a wall wart adapter and clipped them together with a clip like below. Electrical tape would not really hold them together. If I need to move the amp head I just unclip and go. I've purchased both the tube style and the strip style from Oznium.com. I like the strip better because it has an adhesive back so you can just stick it to the top of your amp like my red one. The blue one is the tube variety and it takes a bit more jerry-rigging. I don't have a good pic of the adapter but it is one of those multi-adapters that has all the different pin-out plug options with adjustable voltage. If you are still not sure what I am talking about just ask.

Here is a blue tube style I put in my buddy's Peters

I also put one in my Peavey Vypyr 60 (with some velcro)

Yep, I went with the strips with the adhesive on the back side, very quick and easy to install, very happy with how it turned out, by the way your amps look awesome.

where do you guys run the power, whether AC or DC, into?
the adhesive panel is cool. i've seen them for car interior mood lights.

What do you mean 'where do you run the power'?

My Ac Adapter is plugged into the same surge protector that my 1Spot and my amps are plugged into if that answers your question.

Hello there is a way to tap into power inside. So many amps have this done. Does anyone know how?

gotta be a way, but those are low voltage lights so you need a transformer of some sort...idk

I opened up a diamond amp years ago. They tapped into one of the pins on a preamp tube to light up there LEDs no transformer. It was 12 volts I can't remember more I wish I did.

I have the 12v power supply/adapter tucked inside the head shell by the amps transformer

I have the the power cord for the 12v power supply coming out of the amp and plugged into the 3 space power strip I mounted on the back of the grill, I also swapped out the 5153s power cord for a 1 foot power cord which is also plugged into the 3 space power strip

The 12v power supply I'm using looks similar to a laptop power supply it's very thin and flat, the upside to this power supply is that it has 2 outputs so I can power a second LED strip off the adapter, which I may run a second LED strip on the front of my 4x12 cab
