I suspect it’ll just keep being reposted until the parties responsible for taking it down get sick of going after it. If I find it tonight I’ll snag it and put it in a dropbox file for anyone who wants it.
I watched it last night and while the audio is a bit rough, it was fucking great. I don’t think I’ve ever seen closeup footage from that era before. Absolutely fucking badass what Ed could pull out of that gear. There was a divebomb early on and you could tell there wasn’t a ton of distortion going on as it faded quickly, a couple notes like that throughout but the majority of it was him dominating the shit out of those strings.
The drum solo 2 songs into the set was pretty funny and backs up what Sammy said in his book about them not knowing how to put a setlist together. Ed’s solo was great (am I the only one that got reminded of “Crossroads” when he hit that trempicking part at the end?”) and it’s awesome to see him in that era, up close just doing what everyone loves Ed for.
What I also found entertaining was looking around the stage and into the audience, seeing how far technology has come these days. Those mixing boards were on folding tables, there was no auxiliary PA in the audience, I think there were just a couple mics hovering above the kit, just such a huge change in all the shit we have available now.
Curious about Ed’s pedalboard, not sure I’ve ever seen pics of this one before?
