VH4 2002 version or 2008 version? (used)

Cut the guy some slack... I asked Peter several questions about this topic and he never replied to my E-mails... and everyone here knows how much I love Peter and his Diezel products... and he has bent over backwards for me over several issues, including sending me free parts for my Herbert when it needed it, I just think this is a subject Peter is exhausted on... and it's smarter for him to just keep his mouth shut about the whole topic... I will say, after playing both a "newer" version and an "older" version VH-4... there is a difference... but to be completely honest the difference makes no difference... the only thing the "newer" VH-4's have is more gain on channel 3 (that's the biggest noticeable difference anyway) but to be perfectly honest... the "newer" VH-4 actually has WAAAAAAAYYYYY too much gain, so you don't even end up using it....

I was in your same position man, I had put money down on a 2004 VH-4, then found some threads about their being a "difference" and was going insane trying to make up my mind and ended up going with a newer one and spending more money... if I had to all to do over again, I would have just bought the older one... but regardless... welcome to the Diezel family!!!!

I'm getting the newer one and I can't stand the time until I can play it!

But to be honest: It's a litte bit said, that my first post at this interesting forum caused a little exaggerated witch hunt.

Welcome to the Diezel Mafia.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah, if it was a true witch hunt by the Diezel Mafia, you'd be buck naked with a gag ball duct taped to your mouth in the trunk of car stopped at the side of a bridge somewhere with a Mesa amp roped to your ankles. So you're okay - there's been no dirty work. My original response was because I thought you were being a bit sly... But we've figured it all out. We're good - you're good - we're all good :)

Enjoy your new amp. You're gonna love it man!! There's no tone like the Diezel tone, and you'll come to find that the fans of Diezel amps are pretty dedicated...and you too, will become one of us in no time flat

Peace,
V.

Vigilance, Honor and Loyalty are rarely seen today. I think we all have a bad taste from the old HC days or when a certain someone left Peter in the weeds.
I feel knowing Peter D. and Peter S. makes some of us a bit more ready to throw down, but as with good friends that is just what you do. No harm, no foul.

I used to say I was Loyal to no amp or company......
That has changed since I picked up this VH4S.....

Call me a fanboy or whatever.....

But this is the best of the best and I am going NO WHERE!!!!
Thank you Peter!!! :D

+1 I might try different amps to mix with my Diezel, but it'll always be just that. I'm still amazed at how versatile it is. Guess I'm a fanboy too. :worship: ;)

What gets me about my VH4S (new model, late 2009) is that it just sounds better and better the louder it's turned up... I mean, it's solid sounding at "bedroom levels", whatever that means - let's say, just above that of a shouting conversation - but when I notch it up to get into the noon+ area on the dials, the thing just starts to take on a life of its own!! No flub, no hiss, no noise, no break down, just more and more of this amazing swirling sonic BOOM :D

Peace,
V.
